Not as easy as it sounds.. i have run into a problem getting my hood to open and short of taking off of the fenders ive done everything i can think of. about a week ago i made the unwise discision to use a cutting torch to take off my lower control arm mounts (factory) about 45 seconds into cutting i burnt through my fuel lines and poof my engine compartment was full of flame. it melted my vacume lines and alot of my harness (allready repaired) i had the hood up when i was cutting. i didnt see the that the hood latch cable was in two till i was closeing the hood and now i cant get it open any ideas.

OK, I took a look at mine and I cant find a way with the hood open other then coming from under the rig.
One way you can try real quick is to pull the drivers side headlight out and see if you can reach your hand up to pull the rod/cable. On mine you have to pull the cable right when standing in front of and facing the drivers headlight. Might have to have a pair of 90 degree pliers. Hope that makes sense....

A lot of times you can take and pull on the broken/cut end of the cable and get it open. Needle nose Vice Grips, or whatever. They make a tool just to do this, if you have to deal with an engine fire. Easy enough to make. Take piece of rod, and cut a slot in it, big enough to fit over the cable. Slide it over the cable, and pull it away from the latch. Usually works. If you have a pry bar with a nail puller, a lot of times that will work. This photo shows the tool on the far right: www.edarley.com/cat_img/BA125_800.jpg
