This Friday? Are you guys going to be doing the late night drags with it? Actually, we are changing it to Saturday night. And, yes, PIR late night drags. Still waiting on Admin approval, too. Keep keeping your fingers crossed.

"Dear Alan,
Permission granted!
Have fun, Jeff

The transportation I had planned on using is not available Friday night. He is open for Saturday night. I realize that is prom night, but that might make for smaller crowds at the track, and on the roads. We may even postpone the testing for a bit, depending on weather.

Jeff, Our 2001 Honda civic has been restored to operating condition and is ready for a road test. Since the car is unlicensed, it cannot be road tested in the conventional manner. It will have to be trailered out to Portland International Raceway (PIR) and driven down the drag strip several times to evaluate the effectiveness of the repairs, and to establish a baseline for the modifications that will be made for drag racing. I will be the only driver of the car, so my personal auto insurance will cover the car, if anything should happen. I will be under the supervision of several Pistons Wild, and Oregon Beat The Heat racing team members to advise me in starting line techniques and protocol.
The auto students have been putting a lot of effort into getting the car to this point and deserve to see the fruits of their labors realized. It will help them understand the lessons they have learned in the classroom and in the shop.
Costs will involve the $20 entry fee, fuel for the Honda, and the cost of towing. The towing will be covered by Pistons Wild as a donation to our program. I will cover the Honda fuel and entry fees out of my pocket for this trip. May we have your permission?

Just a lil background info. The first test day was with the car in bone stock formation. Full interior everything like a new one on the showroom floor.
Since then the interior has been removed except for the drivers seat. So we will see how much of a difference that will make in the ET and speed. Hopefully the weather holds out and we get to run.
