Here are some photos of "SLYMMER" We have done some work and some modifications. Especially spring spacers! Robbing Frogger to build Slymmer! Darel's handy work. The sun roof has a lime green mood lighting. Yes they painted over the window And again, Darel and Rick's handy work. When you don't have the tools that you need....BUILD THEM! The custom "slide hammer" to remove the axle bearigns. SLYMMER got some new "shoes" And this is what you can expect to see on the trails! The mean little green machine!

Looks good... and when you are done with the truck you can always sell the tires and wheels and throw in the truck.
I love the wheels.. cool.

Sorry no pics but when i get started working on something i dont like to stop. Since I was out of work for a week I decided to do some more work on Slymmer. First was the leaking transfer case took it apart and cleaned it up put it all back together and somehow did not get every thing in the same way it was locked up, lol. After a half a day at this point I decided to put in the case from the old Bronco that went to the scrap then re-fabed the crossmember to get more clearance which was about 5 inches. Then it was time to get rid of those 345 gears and welded rearend for the 373 out of another donor axle front and rear. Twice the work. It dosent sound like a big difference but it was alot better than the 345s and ended up being a free swap with some labor. But its all done and I have been driving it for a few days and it works pretty good except for the pinon nut that back off and locked up the rearend in the middle of the road [fixed with locktight] now its fixed. Thank you Darel for coming over and helping out with the axles. If you want to take out the front gears on a dana 35 TTB just ask Darel how much fun it is .

As he said, he was out of work for a week. Therefore, we will have to skip this run for now. Spending our anniversary at home rather then on the trail with friends. Bummer. :-( Yep the rig is running and ready to go wheeling. We took it out on Sunday for a drive to the Grist Mill and to the river to let the dog go swimming.

I love that slide hammer, I will put a picture of the one I used, its built and ugly. It worked good though. I feel the pain of not working. Its been very slow for us lately too and funds are dwindling. Hope to see you one the trail soon. home made slide hammer. A used axle and some weight. It was to pull wheel bearings on my datsun pickup since you have to pull from the studs on the axle.

It's been a while since any updates have been posted for Slymer. Thanks to Darel for all the fab and welding that has been done. I owe you!!! First the winch, winch plate & receiver... Even the mounting bolts are welded on!!! Then came the rock sliders...can't wait to try them out! (still not painted on the bottom side!) The semi-finished look... And yes Slymer would not be complete without a RockStar sticker on the back window...just need the Skittles sticker and it's set!

Well again its been awhile for the updates but a few have been done since the last one. I was wanting a little lift so I started with some Jeep coil springs but they turned out way too soft so off to the junk yard and found some F250 springs. After putting them in it was too high, so took them out cut about 2" off of them then it was all good. So started on the rear again tried Jeep leaf springs but they are to short. Went to the parts store and picked up 2" blocks but the stock springs were still sagging to much. Finally found some Explorer leafs for the big sum of 20 bucks. They were alot stiffer than the old ones so I took the two bottom ones out and thats the way Slymer sits now. Sorry no pics I did have some but the guy that swaped my mem card to my new phone he erased every thing.

After wheeling Slymer for awile now most of you know that I wanted to build a doubler. This is not an easy task on this type of rig but I finally rounded up all the parts to get it started. Thank you Crystal for picking up the steel plate for me. It started off with two of these. With the help of my son Darien we took one case apart and this is what it looks like inside. Then it was off to Patrick's shop to do some cleaning on the case's. Thanks again Pat for all the work and that new non chemical washer. Can't wait to see that motor in your Jeep. Then it was off to the Jondahl's to start the fun work. First we cut the open case to make the doubler part. Then we started the plate which has to be cut just right to join the two halfs together. After the big hole was done the Jondahls invited us in for dinner and then they got the call from there son up north that the baby was on its way. So the doubler will have to wait for a bit. Thank you Winton and Maureen for the use of the shop and the knowledge and the food and congrats on the new grandbaby. So after the plate is done we have to make the sector shaft which is the tail shaft of a tranny and the full shaft of the trans case. more pics and write up to come.
