Well, I finally got everything together to do my V8 swap. I'm using a 1992 Dodge Magnum MPFI 5.2 attached to my AX15/231 via a Dakota V6 bellhousing. Used the Novak engine mounts. I spliced the Dodge harness into my YJ PDC. It was actually a little easier than I expected! I used a set of Dodge and Jeep FSM's for the wiring diagrams. The last step is to get it towed over to the muffler shop for exhaust and get my front driveshaft modified. Hope to get this thing moving by T-giving.

Anybody know of a reasonable muffler shop that can do good work? My service writer at my shop referred me to Hazel Dell muffler because we get a great "discount". I called the guy and asked him about building a y-pipe from manifold to 2.5" cat and back to bumper. His reply was $600! Sorry, that sounds insane! What do you all say? Still need to install the electric fan and loom in the rest of the wiring mess.

Nice job Chris. I have used Darrels Economy Muffler on 82nd. They did the exhaust system on my chevy truck from the headers back that was a few years ago but still nice work and a decent price I thought. Best bet may be to call around. He charged me 600 bucks including flowmaster muffler and high flow cat. With 3" all the way back.
I know Gary's Mufflers in Boring is someone we used to race with and has been in business for over 20 years so it might be worth talking to Gary. He wont steer you wrong.
Towing it to the exhaust shop is a good idea I drove mine with open headers about 10 miles, man I couldnt hear much for the next week but it sure did sound good in 3rd gear.

Anybody know of a reasonable muffler shop that can do good work? Casey at Punks Muffler has always done great work for me and all of my friends. I think his price is sometimes a little high but I will always pay more for a better product. He has done three of my rigs, five of one of my friends, and my brothers Cherokee and all have turned out sounding great and have help up for years on end. I would highly recommend him to anyone. He also supports Piston Wild at our annual cruise in. Here's a link www.punksautomotiveandexhaust.com/

I just ordered the AFE 3" exhaust and a Magnaflow 3" high flow cat. I'll put that together and just have a y-pipe made up.

Finally got it all done! I had it towed to the muffler shop yesterday and drove it home today. It was a little nerve racking driving it from Hazel Dell to Washougal, but I didn't have any issues. I still need to have the drive shafts modified to the correct lengths before I can wheel it.

A quick update: I've been driving it for the last 2 weeks, and no issues. I put it on the 4 gas analyzer at work (Gaynor's Automotive) and I'm waaaaaay under for emissions. This is awesome! I'm putting my new BDS 3.5" springs on tom. morning, and will get the driveshafts modded next week!
