If this exists somewhere else in the forum go ahead and remove this post. But I thought we should have a place to post up plans for day runs. Just in case something where to happen. I know there are a few in this club that like to head out solo for a little gravel road driving and exploration that does not permit due to be mid week or require a second vehicle to make the trip safe.
So this would be a place to post up and let it be known.
Where you are going:
Who is going with you:
When you plan on leaving:
When you plan on returning:
That way if whoever is expecting you home starts to freak they have a resource in order to send out the search party and hopefully someone in the club has a clue as to where you might be.
If you post up your plan you need to stick to your plan and preferably come back to this board and let it be known that you have returned without need of assistance or eating your co-pilot etcetera etcetera etcetera

So in the spirit of taking your own medicine.
Tom N, Hattie and I are headed to Browns camp for the day to measure for gates at University Firepower and hike the trail to check for any projects for this up coming July club run.
We are leaving now (9:30am)
Headed to University Firepower via gravel road and then to Airplane hill to curse at it, measure the gate there and sketch up a plan for our gate.
We'll be back in town around 5pm

I like the idea a lot. I think it should go into the Safety and Education section of the forum. Thanks Paul for the idea.

there should be no snow so no need to rescue search and rescue i hope

ok guys, i have a request for anyone who can, there is a person who has been lost for two nights, going on a third day in the GPNF, up around goose lake, cresa(the emergency management org) is requesting searcher and people with 4wds, apparently to search the roads and cover as much ground as possible. -now i know most of you do not have DEM numbers, or offical certs, but this i have a feeling they are more concerned at this point with the given conditions. this is not a child, so again i dont think the concern for having qualify people(we have to pass background checks ect and go though other hoops) is as important as finding this individual alive. please call me 503 953 3085 or text(after 930pm) me if you can go or would like to. its goose lake campground in the GPNF, they would like searchers for tomorrow morning at 8am, its a two hour drive, and i plan on leaving my place at around 530am to head out
