Hey everyone, I am starting this as a build thread for my 1969 Jeepster Commando that I bought from Woody's 4x4 earlier this year, bone stock runner driver. This one has the better stocker parts than some like Saginaw power steering, multi spring rear leafs and the dauntless 225ci Buick V-6.

Started off lifting the body 1-1/2" using aluminum spacers. Then I began searching for lift kits. I did not want to spring-over yet....if ever because the amount of body roll. So I decided to do my own custom spring packs. With the advice and help from Gary and Lee at Woody's 4x4 I bought some used early CJ lift springs, cold arched the stock Jeepster spring to match the arch of the CJ's. Jeepster springs have an offset center pin both front and rear so I cut and the CJ springs to sit in the pack where I determined best. I came up with 7 leafs in the front spring pack. The thinner leafs are the CJ leafs.

Built the rear springs the same, 7 leafs combining both style leafs. The front shackles are very similar to XJ rear and Waggy front, so I purchased JKS 1" lift Cherokee boomerang shackles. Had to narrow the bushings by 3/16" each to fit in the frame bracket. Also fabbed some u-bolt skid plates.

Hey Shawn welcome to the group. Cool Jeepster build you got going there. I've always liked those rigs. They are on the list of wants for sure.

Well I scored a Warn M12000 winch the other day and have begun fabricating a winch mount and bumper. Starting point for bumper 6"x4" .120 tube

I began cutting along my layout lines. Tubing likes to change dimensions when you cut a side off. I decided to add stiffeners to maintain the correct width.
