Well just started my SAS swap on the Hardbody. I have recieved all the parts except the Coilovers. I'm waiting until i have all the suspension components installed. Then i should be able to get all the messure ment's for them to get them ordered. I have only about 10hr into so far. Allmost all the brackets are taken off the frame and all the welds are ground flat. I'm just finishing cleaning the axles up then ready for all the fab work. I will post pics soon just need to get them off my camera and onto the website. I look forward to having it done so I can go wheeling again!!!! ;D

THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!!!
hahaha
Me too on the wheeling part. I hope its going for the Wounded Warrior run at Browns Camp at the end of June. Let me know if I can help, even if its for moral support such as watching while drinking a pop and handing you tools.

Thats always fun to have a garage day to watch someone work on their rig and drop tools on their head. I want to see that thing done soon. It should work very well on the trail.
What are you going to use for a front end?

Looking good Iceman! I was wondering if you have full turn with your tires mounted? Seems that they would be hitting or close to it, if your arms are that far out on the axles. Moving right along though. Get that thing done soon so we can hit the trails.

That is looking good... Nice work on the bracketry.
? I have never seen a link set up like that. Is that a standard design for a type of 4 link..?? looks like its purpose is to be able to adjust pinion angle. am I right?

Looking good. Your getting there. Nice link set up by the way. Is this your first custom suspension build? If it is you are going at it in a good way. Nice bracketry as well. Wish I had a plasma cutter to make my own brackets nice and pretty like that. Maybe someday. Looking good hopefully that thing will be ready to run before the end of summer and get the bugs worked out and have a great trail rig that no one else wheels.

Fivendime I have looked at the the tire placement but know that I think about it I should check it again. I believe that the tire will hit the frame before the link because the link really goes under the frame about that point in time. But I will check and thanks for pointing that out. Hootie your right the upper link is there just to keep the pinion from twisting. It's really not considered a "Four Link" even though it does have four links. In theory there is only two links that connect the axle to the truck. The upper links tye into the lowers just to keep the axle from rotating. This should give me quite a bit of "flex" without having all the problems with the binding of a four link setup. You tend to have to do allot of setup with a four link to make the truck or buggy handle like it should. Know don't quote me because this is the first time I have done this. I have done allot of research and hours of planning before starting on this project. Racincowboy I cheated and bought most all the brackets from Balisticfab www.ballisticfabrication.com they were very helpful with this project. Yes this is the first time I have done a custom suspension. I have allot of fab skills just need the no-how that I received by asking allot of questions on forms and over the phone to allot of people. Thank you for the compliments and I hope to have this project done buy the end of July. I will keep posting pics as we go if anyone has any questions or suggestions please post them I would like to hear from anyone!!! Thanks

Sounds like you have put in your time in researching the project. The only suggestion I have is make sure you "cycle" your suspension fully before burning it all in. Im sure you have already thought of this though. Those brackets are very nice from ballistic fab I am going to have to look at some of those for when I back half my toyota.
