Well some know, my bike has been sick and in the shop for a few weeks now. Yes, I said a "few weeks"! I took it in because it had an oil leak and it would not start. The oil leak was fixed. Just needed a new seal on the drain plug. After going rounds and being told that was "just a dead battery" was the reason that it wouldn't start, they found that the vent tube on the bottom of the gas tank was pinched off. That was fixed but it had a "noise" in the top end. They tore apart the motor and found the weight on the top of the cam had broken off. It had wedged itself between the cam bolt and the cam chain. From the pictures you can see where the weight was being rubbed by the chain and how it had almost sheared the bolt completely off. Here is the weight. Here is the cam. And this is my "bike in a box"!!! lol I also get a new starter due to the fact that when cranking on a bike and it won't start, will put some wear on it!

Yes! The whole top end of the motor is being rebuilt and I also get a new starter! I can't wait to get it back and ride!!!!! ;D About 10-15 minutes of running or riding and the weight would have been in the bottom of the motor. Sucky!

Well at least you got it figured out now and should be good to go for quite a while now.

Hoping so. Still haven't gotten it back yet. They should have the parts in this week.

Darn them 4 strokers ;D My 87 banshee just keeps ticking. Maybe someday I'll convert. At least you found out what it was. Will they warranty it even though you've taken it apart?

I didn't take it apart...I had a little go around with one of the service writers about the "dead battery" issue that she didn't listen and that I had to take it back the next day and hash it out the the managers and then it got tore down and found the problem. It was there mistake from the begining and they found the culprit to be a pinched off vent tube on the bottom of the gas tank from the last service. Runs almost better then the day we got it! The motor is REALLLLLLYYYYYYYYY tight now! She also got a K&N air filter while she was in the shop. It was in the shop for about 6 weeks. All good now though!
