This to me reads something like Stupid 101. 1. Drinking and driving (Wheeling no less) 2. Liquid encouragement I am real sure helped his decision and lead him to the bottom of that cliff all wadded up. 3. He was OFF the designated trail to start out with. 4. Nothing wrong with the rifle case other then it wasn't made to be hauled in a flipping Toyota down a 400 ft cliff. I am looking at getting one like that if it survived a wreck like that. This guy should think about testing Samsonite luggage. 5. He ended up badly hurt with several broken bones and is lucky to be alive. I hope he has come to realize that wasn't the smartest thing to do and has learned from his mistake. He has lots of time to think about it while laying on the couch popping pain pills. 6. He endangered his buddies life and the lives of those rescuers in an attempt to scoop of what was left of him and his passenger to deliver them to the hospital to be screwed back together again. He will discover what its like to be a barometer and the best weather forecaster around. **Bing** Sorry a light just came on. Thats how it feels to ride in the turning drum of a cement truck? I don't want to attempt that myself. ;D I hope he learned something. It will remind him every time the cold weather is moving in. Just my .02

Wow pistonschick? All you have to go on is a rumor and MAYBE a dui! You're right he must be a drunk because he had BEER! Is it hard to see with your nose that far up in the air? I really thought there wasn't supposed to be any of this on your forum? I thought you could voice an opinion without being burned at the stake for it? Was I mistaken? Of course you are allowed to say whatever you want though. This is the kind of bickering that kept me from joining a couple of other groups, and I heard that it was not the case with your group. Sorry for going on like this but you kinda struck a nerve. As I obviously did you, sorry about that.

Sorry for going on like this but you kinda struck a nerve. As I obviously did you, sorry about that. Fixed my original reply for you - hope that helps. And my nose is not in the air at all - this club and it's members have NO TOLERANCE for drinking and motorsports. PERIOD. And you were allowed to voice your opinion and I am allowed to voice mine. Just because my opinion was not the same as yours does not mean that you were "burned at the stake". This is also not considered "bickering" in my book. You replied to one of MY posts in a manner that was controversial to my original post. It's called debating -- you defend your opinions with information and I defend mine with information. And yes - you did strike a nerve in being "OK" with what this guy did (see Racincowboys post for more info). Relax - I'm not the villian you think I am - I just feel very strongly about certain things. Advocating drinking and wheeling just happens to be very high on my list of "pushable buttons"... I apologize, Jeff, for causing you any heartburn about your post - but you might want to take the time to learn more about a club and what motivates them before you jump onto their forum with both feet in the middle of an "educational" thread. Crystal

Pistonschick, I agree that he was probably in the wrong and that his poor decisions affect all of our reputations along with our chances of opening new grounds to play on. Not to mention closing areas we have. Which barely scratches the surface of downfalls. I just don't agree with assuming that he was wheeling drunk, people can drink responsibly. I enjoy wheeling, and I enjoy a drink. Just not at the same time. P.S. I like your enthusiasm

I like your enthusiasm Dont get me wrong once in a great while I too enjoy a drink like usually it is after a long enduro race and after the racing is done. I myself have no sympathy or compassion for someone who drinks and operates anything motorized period. On the other hand if someone is out wheeling and camping I have no problem that after the wheeling and driving is done for the day if they want to partake in some adult beverages. As long as they are not falling down drunk and are not obnoxious to the rest of the group I am ok with that. If they want to have a few drinks around the campfire and the worst thats going to happen is they may roll their lawn chair I am all good with that.
