Show & Tell; So, I've been having troubles with my cross member bushings in this little toyota pickup. A company online has a product that uses two polyurethane leaf spring bushings, two 1/2" bolts combined with a clam shell like design that seems to work really well. Just testing this thing on the street, dump clutch in 1st gear and add lot'o throttle seems to result in at most 1/16" in movement on the back t-case. An added bonus is that I gained about 3/8"+ ground clearance. Quality and finish work is excellent, only thing I found that it needed was some additional paint, no biggy though. I would highly recommend this product over an after market stock replacement and a factory Toyota OEM part. In the picture left > right: New design after market bushing, middle bushing is factory Toyota, far right is what Costless Auto had available. The one from Costless uses less rubber and doesn't appear to be of the same density as a Toyota OEM one. It will not work if your running dual t-cases, or a singe t-case with lower gears in it, however it should work on a stock application. flip.flop Attachments:

flip flop,
Where did you find this little gem? I have been looking for something exactally like this for my toyota race truck. My cross member mount has seen better days from this last season. I have just installed new motor mounts and dont want those wasted because the t case mount is toast.
Pm me or post here where you got it what it ran all that stuff. I was going to build my own solid mount but why re-create the wheel if someone has already done this.

Actually I have still have the 20r in it with a holley 4 bbl sitting on top of it. That is what class racing is all about. I personally believe you have to be alot better driver to race a 4cyl just because if you get out of the power band then you are litterally done.
I run constant rpm's from 4600 to 6500 and it will do it all day long without complaint. I beat v-6's and v-8's on a consistant basis. On a open and wide track they definately have the advantage but on the tight twisty tracks it is an even playing field if not a bit of an advantage to me. I can just put it on the floor and drive and not have to worry about it.
If our work situation ever turns around I am looking at putting a 22r with a cam and some head work and a camden supercharger to see if I can keep up on the bigger tracks. I also want to scrap the steel cab and front fenders and run a full boatec glass body.

Holy cow 6500rpms!!! That is absolutely diabolical for any old Toy motor!! Sorry to get sooo far off topic I should probably start a new thread on all of this crazy talk. On topic: I'm going to test the new cross member bushing today in low-range and see what happens at 200:1 I'll report back tonight. flip.flop

I am anxious to hear how it does in 200:1. Mine is more for strength flying off of jumps and rough terrain.
Yes my 20r will spin that fast not an issue. It has spun close to 9000 once when the throttle hung wide open and I got it shut off and out of the way. The recall on the tach read 8800 and I was impressed it wasnt scattered all over the place.
It is the same motor I still run today. Those squirrels are wound up pretty tight when we run that is the only way to get any horsepower (if you want to call it that) out of it.

Report: On a moderate hill near 200:1 released clutch smashed accelerator engine tach. = 4000rpm, TOTAL MOVEMENT = 3/16" This is a waaaaay better improvement than before and would be willing to bet the majority of the movement left is from the motor mounts Can't wait for the snow this year!! flip.flop

Very cool glad to hear you got your problem all but solved. I think I am going to put this on my christmas list so I dont have to worry about mine on the track as a loose transfer case flopping around kinda hurts the lap times then things really go wrong if you keep at it.

Marlin Crawler has a pretty stout mount also. If my parts ever get here you can see it first hand if your still in for the install project.

Just as soon as your parts get here via wagon train from back east. LOL I would have been all over that guy who didn't ship what they had and then ship the back-ordered part later on so at least you can get started and just have to button it up when the back-order is filled. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A DYING ART ANYMORE IT SEEMS. Anyone else notice this? Its going to be a sad day when common sense and customer service have ridden off into the sunset never to be heard from again. Lance
