I was thinking of putting a trip together to the McGrew Trail/ Puncheon and Turnpike Road, but I haven't found a lot of info about it. I did find two sites "www.oohva.org and Jefferson state cruisers". If you have ran this trail or have any info on it please post and lets get a trip together. Attachments:

i finally ran the "creek'n'trail" last year with my long time friend from roseburg. he has run it every year for at least a decade. after being invited so many times and not going, it was time. its an easy trail that anything open on 31's can do. there are some by passes that will challenge more capable rigs. i ran all the hard spots including the obstacles with a locked rig on 35's without trouble. my friend litigator had invited along a couple oregon state representatives bruce hanna and tim fereeman who wheeled bruce's jk rubicon on the mcgrew. the klamath county four runners, strawberry hill, extreme offroaders, umqua valley timber cruisers and the other?? region 6 clubs. put on a fantastic run with first rate food and live music. we camped at obrian the first night at www.lonemountainrv.com/index.htmlturns out i know the people that own the rv park. the creek and trail have been usign this as a staging spot for years. there is tent camping and full hook ups with the trail head right up the road. the second night we camped at sourdough camground on the illinoise river. www.sharetrails.org/magazine/article.php?id=692the forest rangers are "super pinched up" about jeepers having ANY mud or sand ect ect on their rigs going into the are because of "root rot". when "creek'n'trail" ran the mcgrew they closed the trail to everyone els and also inspected every one of our rigs and sent some people back to clean their vehicles. www.ufei.org/files/pubs/Redwoods.pdfhere are some pics of the 08 run from the umqua valley timber cruisers. my buddies jeep is in picture 4, the red yj on 39's picasaweb.google.com/CJ3BWILLYS/CreekNTrail08#
