I have a 2004 Toyota Double Cab, I just purchased an ARB Bumper and M8000 Warn Winch. looking for instructions on how to install Dual Batteries. besides the winch I also plan to add Flood, Spot, Fog Lights, and Onboard Air Compressor. Sounds like too much stuff for 1 battery

I went the SUPER low tech on my dual battery install. 1) Mounted dual Optima red top batteries in trays just above rear differential. 2) Built up 4/0 welding cable (bat +) about 12' long & routed to major terminal block behind headlight. 3) Hooked up batteries in parallel. No isolators or solenoids used 4) Used OEM 80 or 100 amp alternators over the years. 5) In 2006 I had one battery low voltage condition( no engine start). I left the ARB fridge on for 2 days ( temps in the 80's) without running the engine ( my bad). Easily jump started & self recharged 6) The Optima red tops batteries were the original batteries ------ they were 11, eleven, ELEVEN years old. I just installed two new batteries in January!!! A dual battery install doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Sometimes the simpler the better. Make sure to match the batteries (same make/ratings/mfg date) if running in parallel. Cheers. Sounds like too much stuff for 1 battery You should take a look at the Rescue XJ Jeep we have. 10k winch, 5 Daylighters on top, 48" Streethawk emergency light bar with 2 100 watt sirens, 6 PIAA drivin lights(4 in front and 2 on back), LED flashers, 2 radios, 2 scanners, power inverter, gps, and phone charger. All running off of one 800cca battry and a 140amp alt. Pretty much maxxed out right now, but running this set up for years.

If you got the room, I'd say run 2 batteries, one with a isolator. The one that is on the isolator run to your winch.
