I just picked up an old Model "T" horn. It is Six (6) Volt. How do I install it onto a 12 volt system ? Please explain it like you are talking to a six year old (lol) TIA !

I was going to try an explain this, but its quite complicated to a degree. Basically you need a voltage reducer. You can make them with parts from radio shack but I managed to find one online for a pretty good price. They make other voltage reducers for 6v electric motors and fans.......but DO NOT use those as they will fry your horn as soon as you use it the first time. That one would be used for your gauges, radio etc. Here is a link to one I found, its a pretty good deal on it so I would just buy one already done. Click on the picture for a larger view. The gold part is the actual reducer, the black part is the heat sink which you really need because the voltage reduction creates quite a bit of heat. You might be able to find a different website cheaper? www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~dyndetail~Z5Z5Z50000021a~Z5Z5Z511450~P17.00~~~~~~~F
