An interesting read about a group (Faith Wheelers) that has adopted the Rainier Vista Trail (on DNR land) and some of their experiences with the DNR and PNW4WDA. faithwheelers.thruhere.net:8081/cgi-bin/fworc/YaBB.pl?num=1275231123/0(the link above is giving me grief - please go to their forum at www.faithwheelers.com/ and look under "4x4 Chat" if the link above does not work) I support what they are doing, but am dissapointed that they don't go to all of the DNR Trail Advisory Group meetings to explain and/or defend what they are doing and why they are doing it. I don't know the area, but wonder why the PNW4WDA is complaining about the trail design??? The only reason I could think of is if this trail is a connector to other sections of the forest (that might exclude less capable vehicles from accessing the other side) - if this is a stand alone trail, I really don't understand the protest. Just like we need easy trails - we also need challenging trails... I look forward to some discussion on this thread about what "Gibby" and his club are experiencing. Crystal

Crystal, thanks for the link.
That is a good looking trail they are building. I don't know the area either, but in reading(old posts on NWW) I get the impression that the trail is not connected to other trails.
I am also curious to know what specific complaints people have about the trail design. I know Gibby got a lot of heat on NWW about size restrictions being placed on the Busywild trail(width and wheelbase). So the complaints could be more personal than technical?

If I remember correctly this trail is a stand alone trail. There is a gravel road that kinda parallels it. This trail is all by it's lonesome in the far north of this small Orv area. Please someone correct me if you know better.
This easy trail has had very little use over the years & even the stock type rigs would just take the gravel road out for the scenic view to the NW instead of using this trail. I guess it's not going to be easy anymore! ;D

looks like a decent trail to me, and by the pictures those guys did a splendid job. I didn't read all of it because its late and I didn't want to take the time right now. I can however comment on one thing (my opinion). I cant stand people complaining about certain requirements to run something. Its like me saying its no fair that he made it up the obstacle so I have to be handed an equal rig. nothing is equal and I wish people would get that. We always get back to the same old adage that you cant make everyone happy. I know my rig wont make it up airplane hill at TSF, but it sure will some day and that's the fun part about it. The challenges get more intense as I upgrade my rig. I'm done with my rant....LOL I will read it later in full.
