Attached is the map of the Evans Creek Area. The new Forest Management Travel Plan states that you must have a copy with you in your vehicle when recreating in the Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest. "I didn't know" will no longer be an acceptable excuse to rangers in this area. Please make a note of the width limitations of 72" on a few of the specified trails. Roads are open to highway legal vehicles ony. Attachments:

I talked to Dan about this current info and Law Enforcement doesn't know about it, and does not enforce it. Dan will fill us in on the rest of the story. The only thing that is "required" is the Northwest Forest Pass, that can be bought for $5.00 at the local stores. (see the "Monthly Club Run Thread" for details)

To add to what Douglas is saying; I took your concern to the club ( Rednecks and Rugrats) and talked to Derek. They had a fully sanctioned, insured, permitted event at Evans Creek last weekend. Enforcement the 72" rule and the "carring of the map" was not an issue and no tickets or citations were written.

After further investigation...
The map that the forest service is asking as to carry will be provided at our drivers meetings before we hit the trials. As far as the 72" width or less requirement... That is a new rule that needs to be brought to every ones attention. However, I spoke with a club that just held a sanctioned event there last weekend and frequents this area a lot. They said that law enforcement hasn't issued any citations as of yet for this.
I expect everyone to have a GREAT time this weekend.
Thank You for your understanding in this matter.
Douglas

We are set we have the map and we sit at 72'' as long as i dont park on a rock and make the side wall bulge. lol I also chatted with some guys that were there last weekend and they were approached by the local law man and he was handing out the new regs. and just giving verbal warnning. they were in a full size dodge pickup and said they went through most of the trails "without a scrach" but who knows it should still be fun. A day in the woods is better than a day at work. See yall fri am.
