Here comes that Elbe Hills freight train that I was talking about at the meeting tonight -- it just turned into a non-stop bullet train... Message received from Arlene Brooks (PNW4WDA Washington Executive Director) at 9:30pm tonight... * * * * * Here's an important request from one of our PNW4WDA Land Coordinators, Joe Wittig - Elbe Hills. TIME is NOT in our favor to get this request accomplished - please help ASAP, any questions please contact Joe @ (253) 722-6708 or bigiron1975@comcast.net. I think this is the same thing, but I read it on another forum and knew it needed to be posted other places, so I copied and pasted.
"I was contacted by the Dnr tonight with a request for help. They need emails sent to one of the 2 address's i will post below. These emails need to be tasteful. Basically they want you to describe how you use public lands and why it is important to you and your family to keep these places open. Sorry, but we only have a 24 hour window to send these emails.

My e-mail sent last night.
Thought this was a cool letter sent by a PNW4WDA member for the cause...

Doug, I raised my son (now 22) in the back seat of my jeep using public lands managed by the DNR. It taught him not only how to drive but how to be a steward of our lands. He grew up knowing why its so very important for us to have these lands and why we need to take care of them as well as why we need them to recreate on. It made our family stronger as a unit by being able to have these lands to recreate on. Something I ask people is How many kids these days want to go with mom and dad every weekend instead of hanging out with their friends at the mall ? Public lands and outdoor recreation build strong families. Please do whatever it takes to keep our ORV accessible lands open for the public. Thanks

My email was sent today and it play's on the same lines that this gentalmen was getting at. I believe that a close family is very important. This is just one of the many ways that lyzz and I plan on keeping our family close knit.
