My tail pipe is turned down right after the muffler. It drones bad. I have read that by cutting off the turn down will decrease the drone. Yes / No ? Do I want to cut it straight up and down, (flat) or at an angle ? Steep angle or a 45* cut ? Thanks !

A turn down will help a bit, but how far back does it dump (where in relation to the firewall and the rear of the tub i.e. half-way back, or at the rear of the door opening, or the front of the fenderwell)? I helps a ton if you can get it past the axle, alot of the time there just isn't enough space to do that easily in a small rig, but with yours being at the height it is I'm sure it can be squeezed in there (especially seeing as it's single exhaust on a 4.0l rather than some big dual stuff). Again, turn downs help, but they work best as far back as you can get them and if they're kinda above the axle you can leave them a little long without them hanging up on stuff.

Mine turns down just behind the doors, in front of the rear axle. with my wish boned 3 link there is no room to place it over the rear axle. Would a straight pipe sound better than a turn down ?

I would say a turndown will get you less noise inside then a straight pipe.
