I believe I have some pictures of our trip. These were the ones I took with my camera. My friend Curtis took a lot more pics then I did. Those will come later.
My friend John and his girl friend. He lives in So California
Our camp in Logandale, Nv ORV park
On the way to the trail in a amazing Red Rock area. This is day one.
Check out that rock formation!!!
John and his sweet ride.
One of the interesting trails we found
This is popping up on that ridge.
I don't know what it is with me and flat tires?
I had to let Curtis have some fun.
At the end of day two, John had broke his front locker and decided to bag the trip and head home.
So Curtis and I headed off to Reno and then Northern California to do some Ghost Towning. Without being prepared with locations and all my maps and research we ended up at a town that I was familiar with Lucky "S" Mine. But along the way Curtis says "Hey let's go check out this place on the map that looks like a rock quarry". So' I thought I'll humor the little fella. Well this is what we discovered... A full blown mining operation.
How cool is this!!
This is a very big sleuthe (it separates debris that comes from the mine)
This one of the original ore cars.
Here is the entrance into the mine shaft. With a shop on the left.
After exploring around this area for a bit. We decided to head off to the Ghost Town.
This is the road leading into the town of Lucky "S"
(don't pay attention to the dates on some of the pics, this is my second trip here)
Here we are in front of one of the houses.
This is the three story hotel we stayed in. This is four star stuff here. We made sure we pampered ourselves.
Nice rooms.
This is a winch house.
Here is the winch used in raising and lowering buckets of material out of a vertical mine shaft
Another old house in town.
This is a drum sift to separate material.
This building was awesome. I just discovered this one on this trip. What a treat.
Curtis is enjoying the inside.
At this point we decided to head out to an area that I had never been. Here is Mc Cloud lake, up by Mount Shasta.
Here is the dam bridge.
The lake was as green as you see it. Notice Mt Shasta in the back ground.
Mount Shasta in all its glory.
We ended up home Friday night. Two days soon then planned, but we had a great time.
Well that about does it for the pics I thought would bring this trip to life. Like I said earlier, Curtis took a lot more pics then I, and I will post those as soon as I can to help fill in the blanks.
