9th ANNUAL PICK-UP THE BURN
MAINTAINING A TRADITION OF STEWARDSHIP
- YACOLT BURN WORK PARTY -
Saturday - September 24, 2011
Piston's Wild Motorsports is proud to be hosting the 9th Annual Pick Up the Burn in cooperation with the Pacific Cascade Region of the Department of Natural Resources.
This will be our fifth year in a row hosting this event and we have some very lofty goals to achieve. We are hoping to make this year's event even larger than last year. To achieve that goal - we are going to need everyone's help. Please join us for whatever time you have available - two hours or all day - your participation at this event is crucial to the success of the Yacolt Burn ORV Recreation Area.
You DO NOT need a Discover Pass to participate at this event. Your working hours will be eligible towards vouchers for a FREE Discover Pass. For more information about the Discover Pass please go to: www.discoverpass.wa.gov/
EVENT DETAILS
Please meet at the Jones Creek Trailhead (directions below) on Saturday at 9:00am to sign up, choose your task and get any supplies you may need.
To start the day off right -- Woody's 4x4 will be providing "Krispy Kreme" donuts for your breakfast.
After a long hard days work of cleaning up the forest please join us from 2:00pm - 4:00pm back at the Jones Creek Trailhead where Piston's Wild Motorsports, Jones Creek Trail Riders and Region 3 of the Pacific Northwest 4-Wheel Drive Association have provided the funding for an appreciation lunch for all volunteers. Members of Piston's Wild Motorsports will be serving.
Special thanks go out to Waste Connections for donating dumpsters for all of the garbage as well as taking care of of the disposal costs for us again this year.
We would also like to thank the local Les Schwab Tire Centers for handling the logistics for receiving and recycling the tires that have been dumped in the forest.
Contact Nick Cronquist (DNR) at (360) 575-5016 if you have any general questions about this event.
Please contact Crystal Crowder (Piston's Wild) at (360) 606-1648 if you have any questions about the 4x4 community's participation in this event.
