Well time had come where the toyota and I needed to part ways for more room and I wanted something I never really see on the trail so thats where the scout comes in. Another reason for the build is I work hard to earn what I have and am tired of being called a theif for having a built toyota even tho it took years to build and I still have all the receipts. I figure with the scout being a 64 I can take it to car shows, and go wheeling and be able to take friends and my dogs with. Bought this back in febuary 2010 from a buddy and it had been sitting since 2005. Here she is when i bought her. By mudmainac3 at 2011-03-20 By mudmainac3 at 2011-03-20 By mudmainac3 at 2011-03-20 It came with a 162, 3 speed manual and a dana 20 and dana 27's stock. It will be getting all toyota parts swapped into it cause thats what I have. Its getting toyota axles out of my old wheeler that I was tired of By mudmainac3 at 2011-03-20 I started to get motivated by cutting the fenders to see what it would look like and took the top off By mudmainac3 at 2011-04-10 After i cut the fenders i swapped in my toyota axles, 63" chevy springs in the rear, and stock solid axle rears up front with some custom front hanger, and rear spring mounts. Also threw on my 39.5 iroks. By mudmainac3 at 2011-04-22 By mudmainac3 at 2011-04-22 Then I took the whole truck to bare metal and painted it. By mudmainac3 at 2011-06-12 I then changed the front hanger mount cause i didn't like what it was made out of or how it was made. So i added 2x4 0.188 wall tube for the frame extensions and I had a sky manufacturing spring hanger in the garage for a toyota so i installed that on the front. Also sold the solid axle rear springs to a buddy for his sami and got some ifs rear springs for the front. I also did not like how high it sat so i frenched in the rear springs and changed the rear shackles so they come off the end of the frame and i added a rear cross member and receiver mount to the back. By mudmainac3 at 2011-11-03 I had bought a fuel cell but decided my buddy needed it more than I. So i had bought a toyota tank for my lady's 4runner build but it didn't fit but works out great in the scout behind the seat. So I built a mount for it and installed it. My lady got me an early christmas present so we went and got some beadlocks made for the scout. By mudmainac3 at 2011-11-10 Now just need to mount my motor tranny and cases as soon as I pick up the cases from my buddy. He decided not to build his truggy and parted it out and I got the motor and tranny and cases. Gonna be running the 2rz 4cylinder 2wd tacoma motor with a turbo transmission thats 23 spline to 23 spline crawl box to marlin crawler adapter to 23 spline marlin crawler 4.7 rear transfer case. Gonna be mounted with the front range offroad tcase mount. Selling my high steer to a buddy and ordering my 6 shooter knuckles from trail gear with arp studs and hiems for the steering. And in Feb. I'm also getting all my tube for my roll cage, bumpers, and sliders.

ok well i got some work into her last weekend before I started getting real sick got food poisoning and it kicked my butt all week. Got my 2rz mated to the transmission and transfercases By mudmainac3 at 2011-12-19 Had to unhook the trans from the motor to get it to fit in the bay. This is a tight fit never thought it would be this tight but with some firewall modifications and core support changes here and there shouldn't be to hard but I already have the motor and stuff so its gonna fit oh and might have to shove the rear end back farther and change rear springs to rangers if i have to move it back By MUDmainac3 at 2011-12-19 By mudmainac3 at 2011-12-19

well I was shooting for a frame height under 21" cause my toyota was 20 3/4" and here is the scout height By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-08 By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-08 while rolling around under the scout I realized I needed to check bumpstop clearance cause I didn't think my pathfinder bumps would fit. well they do but in the rear it will be riding on bumps By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-09 front has about an inch before bumps but the pathfinder bumpstops are pretty soft and I wanted the bumpstop to be touching at ride height so they will stop at about 4 to 5 inch uptravel By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-10 I also picked up some LED's for the tail lights and some amber colored ones for turn signals By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-08 also checked driveline angle and checked for length By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-10 well I decided I would start work on my winch mount and the failead mount aswell By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-10 By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-10

well now comes the time to do the beadlocks By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-30 lots of welding grinding and welding By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-30 oh and did I mention a ton of torque to the bolts By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-30 and got them on the scout By mudmainac3 at 2012-01-30 ok well got a little work done here and there. I apperantly can't commit to get one thing done at a time haha. I needed to get my steering off and swapped for my heim setup and 6 shooters but have had some of the steel for my mini boat sides/ rock sliders so i cut that stuff up and tacked part of it in place By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-06 well then the weekend came and I promised a buddy the steering and knuckles for his sas on his 4runner so had to pull the front end all apart and get some stuff swapped in so I pulled it all apart and discovered that the front trunion bearings were destroyed and peices were all over in the knuckle. got some pretty good grooves and my chromoly birfeilds are pretty gauged up but still work so whatever. By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-06 By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-06 By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-06 Went to PNP on sat with a buddy got my final 2 pathfinder bump stops so we put them on the front, also got a throttle pedal out of a chevy truck and the steering intermediate shaft from the column to the box. While I had everything apart I figured I would check out how the shocks would fit well. Kinda ran into an issue but I have an idea on how to fix it but haven't gotten to it yet. By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-06 well i went and bought new bearings, seals, and some grease then put the front end together well I was drilling the holes in the frame for the steering box and the drill caught and broke the handle and cut the inside of my hand so I decided it was a good time to quit. It hurt pretty good and just made it hard to grab anything so did some little stuff here and there. Well while looking at the set up I had a bad feeling about my heim setup cause I had never test fit it well put it on and barely clears By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-06 I'm gonna run it and see how it works if it binds i'll deal with it then Also got my seats in today. yeah I knew it I was gonna get beadlocks I would want something to match the rig and be custom. Well I got a little work done this week. I painted the dash and got it reinstalled By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-12 Also got her sitting on all 4 beadlocks By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-12 By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-12 Also got my high steer set up mostly done and got the steering box mostly done aswell By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-12 By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-12 Gotta move the steering box the inch farther forward I can till it hits the end of the frame or also move the front end back an inch. I also gotta install axle degree shims to pitch my pinion up more. Also got some new shock mounts made and installed in the rear and started on my rock slider mounts well got some work done this week a little. I discovered that when you are cutting into the floor from the underside of the truck make sure you moved everything out of that are because spray paint cans make a mess of everything By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-17 I moved my steering box the 1'' farther forward to help clear itself and cut out some covers the frame plates to make it look nice. I also cut some floor out behind the back seat for my rear shocks. I picked up a 97 tacoma dash harness this week so I can get my motor all wired in and going. so tonight I started stripping the un-neccessary out of it. Only worked on it a little gotta get some schematics to see what all I can take out. By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-17 I also remembered I had my harnesses and wanted to see what they would look like with my seats By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-17 ya harness is pink

Its amazing how much work you can get done by urself. I usually work on my truck with a buddy on weekends and I get 1/3 of what I got done in a day. Well I tacked everything for the steering box mount in so we can just burn it all in later. By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 also tacked my fairlead mount up By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 I also tacked the rear diff cover on By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 I also tacked the rear bumpstops in By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 I then built a rear crossmember from between the spring mounts for a little more strength By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 I also tacked the rock slider braces in along with the rear frame plate By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 well then I had already moved the steering box as far forward as possible. the steering was still not right By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 Well then I moved the front end back an inch and added my degree shims in to help with the pinion angle By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 It helped but I had to cut off my bumpstops and move them back an inch as well By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 Here is what she looks like from the side now. I wish I wouldn't of had to move the front end back it was perfect where it was but ohwell By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19

By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 I also got the gas tank and shock mount cover started and pretty close to ready for skins. By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-19 ok well did a little work this weekend. I cut the shock plates to mount the rear shocks to the tower. I also cut all the plates and drilled for where the cage mounts so i can mount it to the frame. I also got into some more wiring here is more junk i took out By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-28 here is some harness all cleaned out gotta check a few more plugs and then its tape everything up for a stand alone engine harness By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-28 I started to skin the tunnel but I realized its to thin and i need to get some 18 guage sheetmetal so its easier to weld By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-28 went with the gf and got her a tuff truck for the fair and just to rally around. By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-28 its a 69 vw bug with baha kit. needs motor work for $400 bones. I also hooked up the flux capcitor adn got it all ready for some party time By mudmainac3 at 2012-02-28

Well I didn't get that much done this week or weekend. had to get a tooth pulled on wed and went in to the dentist and the tooth didn't wanna come out. two of the roots fused together and they had to cut up into my gums to get it out so been kinda under the weather. Well saturday had to clean around the house some and do a little maintenance on the daily and clean the shop so I don't work all over or around everything. I did pick up this sweet roof rack tho. figured it follows with the vintage theme By mudmainac3 at 2012-03-11 By mudmainac3 at 2012-03-11 Then today I loaded a few buddy's up and we went up to the swap meet in Puyallup didn't really need anything but I had never been and you never know what you could run across. Well didn't get much but did get a sweet sticker. I had the same one on my pickup. its funny cause the trucks pink. By mudmainac3 at 2012-03-11 Gonna try and get some work done this week. I feel like I slacked all last week and with the time change I can stay out longer and get stuff done
