Welcome cliff. If you have a chance you should come down to The Rock for some good Pizza and drinks. Most of the club will be there. Its all about just getting to know each other. If you need directions shoot me a pm with your number and i will give you a call.

Welcome. Carefull what roads you drive on in this area. There are none (yet) marked for 4x4 vehicles, so the 4x4's are supposed to stay on the gravel roads basically. Fun during winter, but not trail driving.. You should hook up with the next crew you find going down to TSF. The drive down there is really not that bad, I think my slowest time was 1hr 10 minutes from vancouver but my CJ-5 topped out around 55... if I hit 60 it sounded a little out of hand. The trail system is vast enough that every time I've been down we run just a few trails or sometimes even the same one the entire day.. Archers can be an all day deal, and depending on what you do, firebreak 5 can take a while. One time we spent a couple hours on a small section called Waterfall seeing how many different angles the 1 ton 40" tire jeeps could make the ledge.

Sorry I missed your last post. Yes please follow the rules and stay on the roads or marked ORV/OHV trails (which there are none in SW Washington at this time.) We need to make sure we are being responsible wheelers so we can keep moving forward with the trail system in the Yacolt Burn, and everywhere else in the country for that matter. The State and Federal governments are on our side if we can keep people on designated trails, and pack out what we pack in (i.e. tread lightly www.treadlightly.org/page.php/tread-principles/ ). It’s the people that don't want to follow the rules that are messing it up for the rest of us. I'm not saying that you are doing any of these things, but just want to make it clear of the clubs standings on these matters. If anyone has any questions please PM me and I will explain more. You are also welcome to post any questions on the forum and we will answer them as they come up.

I am also new here to this forum/site and have not met or wheeled with anyone yet, but usually the way it works is someone will post in upcoming events and then people will start to commit to it.. As the day gets closer usually the original post person takes the "trail boss" position and states what trails are going to be ran... A nice trail boss that is intending on spending a lot of time at the crushers will state that clearly in advance so no stockers commmit and then end up being photographers for the day and not wheeling. Anyhow there is usually a meeting spot... if everyone is coming from Vancouver area, it will be around there and then one pit stop at the gas station right before TSF will be made to make final petro, water and food upgrades. From there on out you follow the person leading and everyone makes sure everyone gets through every obsticle or if need be successfully makes the by-pass and catches up. Thats what I am used to anyhow.. and I have been trail boss many of time rolling the little spooled Samurai on 31's and had some very surprised large tire vehicle owners on what trails were done.

ok cool that sounds like alot of fun and i have a few friends going up memorial day to browns camp and camping out there i am trying to get a friend of mine to come with his samurai but for the most part every body else that will be going is 36s and up so i will have a hard time keeping up with them though they welcome me along. though if there is another group that i and my friend could go with that is a lil more lower class lets say lol. i think it would be alot more fun instead of playing catch up with the big guys all day i know they are going for the crushers
