What a great time it was today!!! The day started not so well with wakeing up to my phone ringing asking where I was at. THEY HAD PEOPLE WAITING ON ME... Needless to say a little verbal motivation from crystal over the phone and I was out of bed. I was supposed to meet at there house to break the rust out of my bones of a full day of wheeling and take ol yeller down the trail too! So off to Chelatchie prarie store parked the dodge and met up with the group. It was a great day running the 57 and 54 road and to be running in a ton of traffic. Lots of people on the mountain today. We hit roughly 2 feet ish up at the top when we finally started breaking our own trail only to be stopped by mother nature laying trees and bushes on the trail. Thanks to all that came hope you had a great time too!! Here's my few pics in no random order. Hi Mr Winters and son!! Bruiser always on my behind! Waiting for ..................... to get straightened out on the trail as he likes to get stuck and run up front with the big dogs.

Why do people call roads trails? Because all roads started out as a trail. LOL

Thank you to everyone that made it out yesterday. We had a total of 14 vehicles that made it out for the annual tree run. It was one of the larger runs that Ive been on with Piston's Wild. Stopping for a minute for the group to get all caught up. And the first snow sighting of the day. Trying to get a pic with most of the group in it Tree down Isaac doing his branch dance and Crowder working the chain saw and we had the trail cleared out in no time. Excuse me do you got any grey poupon? A couple more minutes up the trail and we ran into this washout... Route #1 was a bust... Time to get the convoy turned around and headed back out to route #2.

After getting turned around we kept on heading up hill into more of the white stuff. Others out hunting for the perfect Christmas tree Quick photo stop A little farther on down the trail and we encountered some vehicles that were headed to opposite direction. Isaac and I both went to pull off to the side and ended up in the ditch. I was able to make it out under my own power. Sorry Isaac but I didnt take any pic's of me in the ditch lol After we got Isaac extracted we headed on up the hill. Found this group up around 4000 feet. That would be a cold cold place to hydrolock your engine. Moving on... It doesnt get much better then this! Stopped for lunch Dont talk bad about Annell's red beans and rice or you'll end up like this guy. The kids playing in the snow Look it's snowing!

Wow wish we could of been there. I came back home Monday but I had to do my dot physical, renew my drivers license, and get an abstract for my new job. I worked all week so Saturday was the only day I could go get it done. Glad you had fun and I'm looking forward to more snow wheeling in the near future.

After a couple of vehicles made it through the slippery situation that Isaac was in I decided to keep chugging along and break more trail. More untouched snow! ;D I was in a low gear in low range just chugging along when I got to this. Isaac and I hiked in a way's and then decided that it was time to call it quits. This would be trail for another day. Getting the convoy turned around again. All turned around and ready to head out As we were running down the road Paul pulls to the left and stops real quick, jumps out of his Jeep and said "I still need to get a tree". Snow lights And the Christmas Tree run was a success!!! I heard a rumor that the saw was just for looks... That it was the beard that actually cut the tree down... I'm just saying ;D The tree was loaded up onto the Land Rover. And back to Chelatchie we went! Seasons Greetings everyone!

Great trip reports Tom and Daryl. We had a great time playing in the snow yesterday and can't wait for another snow run sometime soon.
Love the "Seasons Greeting" photo - I saw that when we rolled into Battleground for dinner and would have liked to take a picture but had my hands full with Bruiser (death wobble, worn shocks, understeering and 15 lbs of air make it kind of like a carnival ride).
Thanks again, Daryl Withay for organizing an awesome day on the mountain. Hopefully Carmmal is feeling better soon and we can get back out there again in even deeper snow!

Just want to know if its new and its blocking my normal route. You said up the 57 but then said you kept going higher. So is it across the 57, the 5704? Didn't know asking for a little information was going to be such a big deal.

Didn't know asking for a little information was going to be such a big deal. Im sorry if Ive came off rude. That was not my intention. I can almost guarantee that your normal route is not affected by this washout. The reason that Im not posting the location of the washout is purely for safety reasons. I would feel awful if someone who wasn't capable enough were to go to this location and get hurt because of me posting it all over the internet. In any situation that regards the safety of others I would much rather err on the side of caution. Hopefully we will see you on the trail!
