Hi All,
So I kind of have been getting different information and the DMV here in WA gave me yet another path. So I was looking to verify / finalize what I need to do to be legal in WA and OR.
I live in WA and apparently they do not have any OHV stickers etc to be able to drive offroad. Can anyone verify this for me please?
Next up, OR says that out of state OHV is based on home state rules and regs. Well, WA has no stickers so I am assuming I dont need one in OR. However, It also states that it is upon evaluation of home state laws - so Im not sure. Any help on this one?

Washington does have orv tags for dirt bikes and quads. If your vehicle is not street legal it will need the same tag. How ever. In oregon your vehicle must be insured. Tagged and registered and have a valid orv permit. Unless dirt bike or quad at which a orv tag is all that is needes.
Dont risk not bury Oregons orv tag. There cheap good for two years and save you from trying to fight in courts about silly laws and writting..
I may be wrong; but that has been my experiance and way to deal with it. I have.oregon orv tags on all my trucks and quads that will operate in oregon. And my quads havent had a washington state one for 9the years cause they are too expensive and only good for a year and there was only jones creek close by when i rode more often.

I posted this information previously - but it has been awhile so here it is again. YES - Washington DOES have ORV permits for Jeeps / 4x4's - it is called "Dual Registration" and you will need to take your title and registration with you to the DOL to get this accomplished. In addition to your already existing "street plates/tags" you will receive two ORV decals with date tags to be mounted on the front and rear of your vehicle. (Alot of people only run one on the rear and have never had an issue.) I have the best luck going to the main WA DOL office in downtown Vancouver at 1408 Franklin Street when dealing with OHV permitting. This is where to buy Oregon OHV permits - www.oregon.gov/OPRD/ATV/permit_vendors.shtml#PortlandImportant things to remember: - A Washington resident can display an Oregon OHV permit in Oregon recreation areas (this is acceptable) - A Washington resident can not/should not try to use an Oregon OHV permit in Washington recreation areas (this is a ticketable offense) - A Washington resident sporting a Washington OHV permit in Oregon is legal by existing reciprocity laws (this is acceptable) - An Oregon resident sporting an Oregon OHV permit in Washington is legal by existing reciprocity laws (this is acceptable) - An Oregon resident sporting a Washington OHV permit in Washington is just plain silly and a huge waste of time, energy and hard earned money... ;D Hope this helps... Crystal
