I'll be joining in this weekend, but not sure if I'll be up Friday PM or Saturday AM... or what I'll be driving... but I will be there. Can't wait! Hey let me know if your going up Saturday morning so we can cruise together . I am leaving Saturday am about 7. I should be pulling in about 8:30 or so. GPS coordinates or directions would be awesome. I wasn't up there last year. I do understand its a super secret spot so don't give it away until we have it ;D. I have a friend coming with me he's a great guy. I can't wait to hit the trails.

OK Gang - here is the plan for the weekend: NOTE: I will post detailed directions as soon as we have a camp spot locked in - stay tuned! Thursday - expecting arrivals throughout the day - FREE PLAY day. Friday - we will be expecting arrivals throughout the day - Darel and I (and anyone else who wants to) will be meeting with Oregon Department of Forestry (Jamaal Rebb) to discuss the future plans of our newly adopted trail "University Firepower". Campfire that night... Saturday - For all you day-trippers and cranky morning people - we will be lining up on the gravel road below camp at 9:00am to get ready for "Big Saturday - TSF Style". Heading out no later than 9:30am. Pack a lunch - we will be out all day - hitting the best trails and features that TSF has to offer - ALL DAY LONG! Potluck & campfire at end of day... Sunday - Again, day-trippers - be in line and ready to roll by 9:30am. We'll call this "Simple Sunday". We will be travelling some of the more moderate trails and doing some spectating at the most extreme features - you can try them if you like, we'll pick up your junk and get you back to camp. Campfire that night... Monday - Travel day for most - no solid plans for this day so we will call it "Lazy Monday" - plans will likely be formulated Sunday night by those in camp... I look forward to seeing everyone there! Crystal

Darel and I were unable to get out of town today due to work - so Dave Huttula "Hootie" has been up in the forest trying to find a good camping spot for the group. We will join him Thursday morning.
He just dropped into cell service and called me with an update:
As I had feared (and why I don't usually do holiday weekends) both of the spots near Back-to Back that we were hoping to reserve are already taken (and have been for quite some time).
Dave has two potential options he is running back up to investigate further and will call me back later tonight to confirm which will work best for our group. Stay tuned - I will post more information after I talk to Dave again later tonight...
For those of you still in the process of packing - please be sure to bring plenty of firewood if you want a campfire in the evenings.

I usually head out around 7:00am to get out there by 8:30-8:45am, so I'm up for joining a caravan and it sounds like Petee & Tweedle Dee are getting a later start too. If you want to meet up and head out together, let me know and we can make it happen. (I usually stop in Banks to top off the tank)

Yay Dave! The map below shows our camp site for Piston's Wild / Evergreen Crawlers 4x4 weekend. The campsite is just one mile off of Highway 6 on Rutherford Road. This is a large flat gravel area slightly larger than the spot we had last year. TWO OPTIONS FOR ACCESS: Please note that there is a rather steep hill between Hwy 6 and the camp site - RV's should follow alternate directions via Beaver Dam Road at Rogers Camp. For 4x4's (RED): Drive past Rogers Camp (summit) and watch for mile marker 32 - proceed 3/10 of a mile and take Rutherford Road on the left. Camp site is exactly 1 mile off of Hwy 6 on the left side of the road. For RV's: (YELLOW) Just past mile marker 33 take Rogers Camp (summit) AKA Beaver Dam Road and follow blue ribbons to camp site. You will be taking ALL right hand turns all the way to the camp site - approximately 4 miles total. - From Hwy 6 - turn left onto Beaver Dam Road - Turn Right onto University Falls Road - Follow University Falls Road to Stage Coach Horse Camp - From Stage Coach Horse Camp turn Right onto Rutherford Road - Camp will be on the right side of the road CB Channels for the weekend will be as follows: Thursday - Channel 23 Friday - Channel 24 Saturday - Channel 25 Sunday - Channel 26 Monday - Channel 27

Meet at PIR at 7:15am. There is a big enough lot for trailers right at the entrance and its easy to get to. I plan to leave there at 7:20 so don't be late;). Let me know if your going to meet me.
