Decided to finally replace the brake assembly in my rusty old Warn M12000. And while inside why not replace thrust washers and bushings. This is the drum surface that rides on the nylon bushings....needs some cleaning Here is the old brake assembly and all the rust that was around it I didn't take any pics of the reassembly after all the cleanup and new parts, but tonight I will reinstall and test.

Very nice! What do you use to keep the cable from rusting? A cover? WD-40?

Very nice! What do you use to keep the cable from rusting? A cover? WD-40? The cable is galvanized so they typically don't rust. A rusty cable should be dicarded and replaced.

Just wondering how to know if it's galvanized, or is that more of an industry standard now?
