So I dont know where yet. But hopefully it will be a snow run unlike 2014's run. 2014's hangover snow run Hopefully 2015's hangover snow run Ill have to wait until its a little closer to see where theres a good chance of finding some snow. Mostly what Im doing right here is getting this posted up so people have time to make their plan. Thats all for now. Daryl

All right everyone. Its that time of year again. Im planning on doing a New Years Day snow wheeling run. We should be getting some good mountain snow for us to play in in the next couple of evening. We will be meeting up at Sunset Falls Camp Ground at 9am on January 1st. And then heading out from there. There are no services at Sunset so make sure that you have all of your food and fuel when you arrive. If you do plan on joining on this trip please rsvp here on the forum so we dont leave anyone behind like we did on the Christmas tree run.
See you all in the New Year Daryl & Carmmal

The only Sunset Falls Campground I could find was in Yacolt. Is that the right place? If so, I'd like to go

pgragg.... Yes that is the correct Sunset Falls Camp Ground emjay.... There isnt a place to leave a trailer. A nw forest pass is needed. Directions: From I-5 take exit 9 WA 502 for Battle Ground. Go about 7 miles and turn left on WA 503 and head north for about 5.5 miles. Turn right onto NE Rock Creek Rd, which will turn into NE 152nd Ave and then a slight left onto NE Lucia Falls Rd for about 7 miles. Then turn right onto NE Sunset Falls Road, travel for about 7 miles and the falls will be on your right. Sunset Camp Ground4stgmby.... Yes this run is open to non members. As with all Piston's Wild Club runs there is no drug or alcohol use while on the trail (driver or passenger). We also abide by the tread lightly principles. Last but not least is to bring a good attitude on the run! Check this link for the full list of our club run rules. Club Run RulesSee you all on the 1st!!!

Clearly I spoke too soon... We had some major issues with the front brakes on Bruiser this morning on the way to the meet up. So, rather than be "that guy" and be a burden all day, we decided to be thankful that we had the issue in Battle Ground instead of on top of the mountain and limped Bruiser home. So sorry we are missing this run - we were really looking forward to going. Hope everyone has a great day - be safe and please let us know when you are all out of the woods. Happy New Year Everyone! Darel & Crystal

We were all aired up and back on pavement by 3:30pm.
Bummer that you had brake issues this morning. But like you said, at least you found out in town and before you were on the mountain.

well you could not ask for a better for a snow run. Thanks Dude for a great day in the woods. Sorry to hear that Bruiser was having some issues but as it has been said better in town than on the mountain.

Sorry I haven't been around in a few months. I have been rehabbing an ankle injury and building a custom transmission cooler for my syncro. I still need to do some work to the Sammy to get it trail ready again. Hopefully I will be at the next club run. Where are the pics of the sunset falls run. I am curious to see how much snow there was. Happy New year everyone!
