Just a though for now or later. Some of the threads started are a bit old and outdated. Some should probably be removed or put in a folder for hidden stuff. I know that the larger forum I am on, this is what they do to keep the clutter down. They of course are dealing with more volume but it may be a way to slim down the threads so its easier to find what your looking for. May help new comers find there way around better. Just a though, and the forum is being moderated just fine, that's not what I'm getting at......if ya know what I mean..lol

I'd argue against it. Save everything. One of the greatest thing I like about the larger boards is the rich amount of info. Unless we are running out of space - I'd vote against removing anything.

What I mean is the posts for some things such as an event. Example, I posted for the 4 Wheel Parts show, and it probably doesn't need to be up anymore since its done and over with. Plus no one posted on it so its kinda taking up space. That's just my thought. Simple stuff like that that's old and outdated, but still keep them in a folder or section.

Hey Joey,
I know where you're coming from about archiving the threads - I don't like clutter either. But in this case - I think the clutter is an integral part of who we are...
The main thing I would be worried about is the fact that I send a bunch of cross-posts and e-mails out to contacts (DNR, sponsors etc) linking to particular posts in the forum. I would hate for those links to be broken if someone ever wanted to re-reference the cross-post or e-mail.
In addition, the primary purpose for which this forum was created is to maintain a "living" document of the activities of the club. I honestly believe that every single post on this forum adds value for new folks who come here to browse around and find out about who we are and what we do. I'm like Jon - I like to browse around forums to not only see what the members are up to now - but also to take a look at their past activities...
If there is a thread that you have posted that you want removed - let me know and I will take a look at it, but I would prefer to leave everything in it's place -- unless we start to run out of space - then obviously we will need to revisit this...
I'm not closing the door of discussion on this - these are simply my thoughts and I am interested to hear what other members think about this idea.

my opinion is to keep old threads.
newest stuff stays on top anyway. this would allow you or anyone to do a search for any topic they wish and have the possibility of retreiving that information. my opinon. Dave.
