Are you sure you have them installed right? The 30 should be in front, the 44 in the rear.
One on top of the other won't cut it...

Well... I never could figure out the gears and lockers. I've put the boxes in multiple locations now, both in the front, both in the rear, front and rear, some on the floor board some on the roof... They just dont seem to work. I guess I'll have to have a professional install these ;D In other news, up armored the Jeep a bit. I'd like to thank shortbus and oldyellr for the help. shortbus and I both put a lot of blood and sweat into this, oldyellr was smart enough to avoid the blood piece ;D Heres how it looked before... Standard flares and the plastic rocker guards. And heres how it looks today with my new sliders and flares on it. Thanks again for the help shortbus and oldyellr. I really like how these look and can't wait to bash them on the trail.

I was going to try zip tying the lockers and gears on. I have to get bigger zip ties though.

Jon, I found a 94 4.0L motor, rebuilt AX15 trans, 231 with SYE kit and a CV shaft on craigslist for 1000 bucks. Motor comes with everything even the radiator. In your opinion is that a good deal. What did you pay for your SYE kit and CV shaft? This stuff is all out of a wrangler too.

I just called the guy and bought it. Just kidding.... What the heck do I know That could be an ok deal. As an example, Advanced Adapters sells a SYE and a CV Shaft for 500 bucks. I've seen used 4.0 engines for 500... so basically your getting everything else for free. Seems like a decent deal to me, and if I had the money I might do it. Course I'm not that mechanically inclined. If you do get that, my advice would be to use extra big zip ties when putting it in.

cool cool, I will go get some of those thingies. I was just wondering since you just did your SYE and CV shaft, and had them installed that you would know the price. I have never had it done. Seemed like a good deal IMO.

Joey, that seems a little high to me, I would try to negotiate down a couple of hundred. Having it all a mated set, complete with accessories is of value, OTOH, he doesn't have to deal with multiple buyers. If you are patient, I suspect you could pick it all up for $800 pretty easily.

Soooo... I went and got a 33X12.5X15 spare. 25 bucks, good deal. The guy said "You know thats not going to fit on the rack"... I knew that, of course it wouldn't, the rear third brake light thingy was in the way. So I took that off.... and guess what. It don't fit. The guy at the used tire shop kinda smiled at me and said "Yep, thats why they put this spacer thing on my jeep", and proceeded to show me the spacer thing he has on his YJ.
So now I gotta find me a spacer thing to get the tire back out on the tailgate..... anyone have any idea's on this?
