I just got a call from a friend of mine that does the "CB" thing and says there is talk of fire that sounds good sized and possibly started by a truck catching fire at a rock pit closest to Jones Creek. Anyone have any info or confirmation on this? I read the other thread about several of you folks going for a drive last night and seeing several fires. Problem is its still dry up there and its starting to get cold AND windy, making the party goers want to stay warm. NOT a good idea. What is wrong with these people going home and leaving a fire UNATTENDED?

There are currently a least 2 fires on or close to fr1500 east of larch mountain. Emergency vehicles are in the area. The fire furthest to the east is now large ( my wild guess 200' wide). The fires are located over a mile apart so my best quess is these fires were intensional set. There may be more fires, but from where I was looking I could not tell. Toyrocs

The largest fire appears to be just on the north side of the ridge. Also law enforcement or emergency vehicles are in or close to Jones Creek staging area! Toyrocs

Maybe someone needs to talk with the Firemen that talked to the guys with the pallets. He said that area is OK from fires.

It sounds like some of the fire responders are having a hard time finding Jones Creek
Sounds like the fire is somewhere along the pass. They got another staging at 4 corners as well

Angelbar thanks for the link. Sounds like they might wait till morning to fight this with dozers. Radio traffic reports of fire 10' high in slash piles with big timber close by. About 20 acres involved as of now. Toyrocs.
