]I went with the York HD compressor OBA for this reason. Long term least expense for air tools or just about any other air need.
I even got the York fully mounted for cheap.... Whatchathink? Looks a lil rough, but it will grow on ya:-))
Yep the York is the highest flowing, most reliable & cheapest engine driven air compressor for 4 wheeling! You did good. Enjoy. Toyrocs

Looking for a tank affordable, small yet adequate. Any Ideas on a cool tank? As my daddy used to say " the more facts we have about a long term decision the better that decision". Does the compressor you have able to run air tools? If so then you can use a small tank(enough to activate your lockers 10-20 times). Then when you are in need of running air tools or airing up you can just switch on the compressor Took alittle thinking but this is how it ended up. Have been very happy with the setup. We were going to keep it so you would have to pull on it to to get the belt tight, but that meant labor type work, decided to make it adjustable.

Oh back to the tank We made the flanges on top of the York, and then tapped them to 3/8npt. Set them up with a small pressure gauge, just incase there is a problem with the system, makes for diagnosing it a little easier. heres another view..

Here is the nice little tank Mike a friend of mine made. Its just big enough to get 10 or so engagements of the ARB before the York will kick on. The system is controlled by an ARB pressure sensor, and built so the second ARB soleniod(is the spelling right?) is on it for a trail spare or when I put an ARB locker in the rear.... thats for down the road. I have a Detroit locker in as of now) Here is where we decided to put the air fitting. One thing experience has taught me, its more convienent to have it either in the front or the rear, and the front was easier to install (rear apps is done when a tank is near the rear).

Very nice I bought a Vair Tank 1 gallon I wanted enough air to bead a tire hope 1 Gal is enough. I have ARBs in both diffs I got the small ARB compressor free when I bought them so I hooked it all up as ARB says. Then I decided I wanted a tank for Tires & Tools. If I want to use the air lockers now it is very fast to fill as the tank that comes with the compressors is very small I did not want that time to air up the tank so I am adding the Large ARB compressor(Thanks Jon) and a manifold(Thanks Scrambeled Bill) and the Vair tank. Also used the arb presh. switch. I will be pluming it to front and rear bumpers and I plumbed a tank drain also to front bumper. So I have 2 OBA set ups one for lockers and one for tools and Tires . Plan is to finish it tonight, and my sliders should be here today!!
