Windturbine1; Have you found the no start- run condition source? The general industry engine failure causes are about 90% ignition,8% fuel/ induction & 2 % basic mechanical failures.
The standard way to trouble shoot is to divide up possible causes.
For your problem a quick/ easy way is to use starting fluid (ether)in the induction system with the throttle partially open while cranking the engine. You will need two people to do this.
If the engine starts/ runs you now know that the problem is in the fuel system. If not you probably have an ignition problem.
Keep dividing the system like this to quickly find your problem.
Hope this helps some.

i think i have it narrowed down. and iam using the starting fluid tomorrow. although i dont think that fuel is the problem because the plugs are wet with gas. i think its the ignition module. im replaceing both that and the coil tomorrow and we will see what happens. thanks for the advice. ill let you know if it works.

Maybe it was just flooded real bad huh? Or a loose wire someplace that you knocked back on while messing with it?
At least it is running now.
If it was flooded that bad you might want to smell the oil or better yet change it. It may have quite a bit of gasoline leaked down from the cylinders after it sat for a while if it was flooded.

we finally diagnosed and corrected the problem. it was a bad coil. it had enough juice to give spark but not enough to fire the engine. thanks to mudmadness giving me a new coil it runs better than ever. next weekend iam putting on headers and replacing the carb. iam ready for the next snow run.
