Hey all, I just picked up a Ford Explorer 8.8 rear end. I also scored 4.88 ring and pinions on craigslist for $150 for my Dana 30 and said 8.8. I know I need to cut off and re-weld the perches, also weld the tubes to the center section. Does anybody here know how to set up ring and pinions, and possibly help me? I don't have any idea how to go about it, and I'm currently jobless, feeling the effects of the economy. I can try to return the favor w/other work/wrenching, trade parts, etc. Thanks!

Sweet! What is involved to do this? I have most of the basic hand tools, but don't have a press. Also, besides the ring and pinion, what will I need?

I'll try to scratch enough hoot together to buy the master kits. Hopefully we can chat at the next meeting.
