Kenny wanted to get another run under the belt of his new XJ so we decided headed up to the NAXJA Noobfest. We rolled into Browns camp around 8am and set up camp and then met up with everyone at Rogers camp at 9. There were about 15 rigs total ranging from a stock XJ to a JK Rubicon on 36. About half of the drivers were new to the sport. Kenny and TORX talking with Jahmaal from ODF First we hit powerline then university firepower The stocker that only back out of a couple spots all day The two extremes of the group. Stock XJ... JK on 36's... Both rookie drivers The JK getting sideways on the downhill side of University Firepower Stopping to regroup and make sure the rookies were doing good

We then hit the roads for a while through Lyda camp and up to hoodraiser. At the top of hoodraiser we had some overheating in the group We hung out there for a while until things got cooled back down Then we hit the road to hogs back Kenny Jeremy from NAXJA The JK squeezing through the filter on the second part of Hogs Back

From there we took archers to waterfall Torx on waterfall Ouch! Jeremy making it look easy The trash bag filling up We then ran back down to Lyda camp to air up those that were ready to head back to town The doggy going for a ride On our way back to Browns camp we Jeremy decided to try Little Rubicon And after some creative lines It was time to winch It took a couple tries but the door finally opened Back to camp for some Corn dogs over the fire Cold beverages And some relaxing!

Awesome report Daryl!
It's good to see everyone out there in the forest enjoying the trails and it was nice that they welcomed the LJ and JK along for the ride.
We really enjoyed our time with the NAXJA crew over the Memorial Day weekend and we look forward to seeing more of them in the future.
Kudos to the more experienced NAXJA members for taking the time to welcome new folks into the sport and to teach them the ways of the woods...
Well done!

Crystal I was very impressed with the way that the experienced guys went out of their way to help out the new guys and make them feel comfortable. This is a sport that can be somewhat intimidating when you see all of the big tires and fancy equipment at the trail head.

Well done Daryl, that was a great report. And yes Torx ( Dustin ) did a fantastic job keeping everything moving. The stock to extreme XJ's all had a blast. Same with the other 2 jeeps that were there. That's 2 weekends in a row of great wheeling.

Good times!
I'm always amazed after each year of planning these runs how much of a need there are for "beginner" specific runs.
Lots of new people just getting into the sport looking for an easy day on the trails. Whether they're in their stock XJ or a point and shoot JK. I think these types of runs are important to set a good example, and pass on the lessons of the trail.
Thanks to Daryl and Kenny for helping to keep the group moving. Like I told Daryl, I hope next year we can do "Noobfest" in the Yacolt Burn.
