Took a drive memorial day up to the Olympic National Park, and found some snow! lol... Well, a little bit... Then after I realized it was ice, I was already stuck... SMH I need to get a locker NOW! haha... Well, here's some pics of this really great drive! Highly recommended if you're in the Seattle area:On the way up:At the park lodge parking lot:Here we are on the top of one of the ridges on Obstruction point road. It's a narrow gravel road that starts at the lodge parking lot:Maybe Bilstein will sponsor me? haha..Here we found a great spot to take in nature, and listen to the birds sings and the wind blow lol... jk, just another great shot of mother nature showing off for mankind:Seriously though, Bilstein, if you randomly find this, you should change your motto to "There and back: We'll carry you"This next one was right before I thought I'd be really slick and try out my fancy Teraflex deflators... well, my driver's side tires ended up in the air due to the ice/snow bank behind my pickup, and my open diffs showed their true colors. Leaving me to fend for myself with my e-tool... haha, well, it's good to be reminded on occasion of our limits..Random, but saw this on our way north... haha... Definitely check out the Olympic National Park if you're in NW WA.Anyway, if this posting is in the wrong spot, feel free to let me know...

Nice pictures. Were you up there all weekend?
And yes open differentials will get you to amazing places when you have another vehicle or two with you and leave you stranded in the simplest of spots when alone.

Nice pictures. Were you up there all weekend? And yes open differentials will get you to amazing places when you have another vehicle or two with you and leave you stranded in the simplest of spots when alone. Not all weekend. When we got to Sequim the evening prior, Sarah wasn't really feeling up to sleeping on the ground, (which I didn't mind since she's 8 mo. pregnant) so we stopped at a hotel, then left for the mountain at about 730. Getting there early is a must. By the time I was able to get my pickup unstuck and back to the lodge, the clouds had rolled in, and the view wouldn't have been worth it. Plus the parking lot was overrun with cars. This was now about 1030. So if you can, try to get there early. I'm looking into putting a tru-trac in the rear, so that it won't happen again... any recommendations on cheap non-select-able lockers for a daily driver? haha...

Tru-Trac all the way!!!! Less expensive would be a Spartan Locker or a Lock-Rite.

Yep! Thanks to you and ODJeepster I contacted 4wheel parts. They told me that if I bring in the pumpkin, and the truetrac, they'll install it in about an hour for just $100. Do you guys think that's a decent price? Also, ODJeepster is there any lag time in getting the differential to lock up? This question is open to anyone for a response, just directed toward ODJeepster because I know that he has one. Thanks! ...Now on hot pursuit of of a truetrac for 8" diff...

That's basically an hour worth of labor that they're charging you. Sounds like a fair price to me.

I haven't noticed any lag time like you would experience with a clutch type LSD having to spool up. I am very happy with my TruTrac and $100 sounds like a really good deal for labor!!!

As The Dude said I have been running a Detroit TruTrac for about 6yrs now and have not had any issues from it. Does well on the street and is always ready on the trail, no lag, no clunk on lockup. money well spent when you can't go the $$$ for a selectable.
