University Fire Power Spring Work Party
Saturday - March 18, 2017
9:00am at Rogers Camp Trailhead
Tillamook State Forest
Team Leaders: Crystal Crowder, Annell Morgan & Hannah Beck
Everyone is welcome! - club members, applicants and guests
Some of us will be meeting for breakfast at 7:00am
Please join us if you can...
Coleman's 9N Shady Rest
55660 NW Wilson River Hwy
Gales Creek, OR 97117
(503) 357-3093
Or sleep in and meet us at 9:00am at Roger's Camp
Highway 26 to Highway 6 - first left after mile marker 33
Take first left into Roger's Camp after exiting highway
This is good day to "bring a buddy" as we can be more effective having more volunteers than vehicles to move quickly through the trails.
Let me know if you plan to attend and will have an open seat and we can help to find you a "buddy".
TASKS FOR THE DAY IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE
1) clear downed trees to allow for complete access of trail
2) pick up any trash on the trail or at any of our 6 trailheads
3) clear any water bar drains that are causing standing water issues
Other tasks to consider but will likely be saved for a work party at a later date with more favorable weather:
1) clearing any brush that impedes driver visibility or touches vehicles as they pass by
2) touch up paint and signage on our two managed gates
I will bring all necessary tools to complete the tasks described above - please pack your rain gear and be prepared to get wet & muddy.
Suggested: rain gear, multiple pairs of gloves, water proof boots, removable layers for warmth and a great sense of humor
I will make sure that we have all of the hand tools, chain saws, fuel, and protective gear with us that we need for the day.
I am seeking one or two volunteers to run up front and help with chainsaw duties for the day - please let me know if you can help...
We look forward to a great turnout of volunteers for the day as we continue to maintain our adopted trails for the Oregon Department of Forestry.
Many hands make for light work - the sooner we get the work done, the sooner we can all go play...
Thank you for supporting your sport!
Happy Trails!
Crystal
