So I had an interesting conversation with my mechanic/fabricator the other day. Premise was on weight vs. breakage? The more sprung weight the more loaded the susp. and drivetrain becomes, and the more something has to give...its easy to see some of the obvious advantages of less weight is more by looking at rock buggy's.
I'm curious to know what you guys are breaking and how heavy your trucks/jeepz are?
My toyota on 37"s @ 4250lbs. at the time broke: OEM motor mount OEM cross member bushing/mount Wore out Idler gear in transmission Chipped Reverse gear in transmission
The majority of all of the damage was done in the snow.

I haven't weighed mine in a while. I'm hoping it comes in 4800 or less with 50% sprung and 50% unsprung weight.
I keep smashing my exhaust, so I think I'll reroute that.

LOL, it finally clicked 50% unsprung weight...that 14bolt must weight more than that inline 6cly. motor & trans. put together!! flip.flop
