Recently I have noticed, and it has been brought to my attention by others, that would should take more time in securing items down in our vehicles. God forbid you ever have the vehicle roll over while playing on some obstacle. You don't want stuff flying around hitting the occupants in the head. I can honestly say I'm guilty of this.
Quick story:
I was going to head down a hill, that you basically couldn't climb. Thats how steep it was. Well I forgot that there was a fire extinguisher under my seat. When I started down the hill, the fire ext. came out and lodged itself under my brake pedal. I had to ditch the truck into a large rock to keep from going out of control. About $500 worth of damage happened to the truck.
Bottom line:
Invest in some bungee cords and/or a cargo net that will be user friendly and will secure down the items in your vehicle. That goes for truck beds also. The last thing you want is to have all your stuff flying out of the bed as well.
Let's be proactive about thing like this, instead of waiting until it happens to figure out that we should've taken these steps to begin with. Let's keep 2010 injury free.
Your comments and/or suggestions are always welcome.

Great idea one can never be too safe. I too am guilty of not strapping everything in. Gonna change that before I am on the trail again.

We ALL are guilty of this in one way or another, I imagine. I know I never tie down my cooler. And that Hilift scares me at times, not having a secure home. That's my next purchase.

I bought a cargo net from bi-mart, and wrap it around my cage in my Jeep. It does a pretty good job at holding my junk down.

Exactly why I built my rear cargo box! Also incorporated some tie downs for misc stuff that doesn't fit in the box. I feel so much better knowing that my gear wont be flying all over the place if an accident happens.
