Anyone up for a Snow Run tomorrow night starting at 8pm? This will NOT be a "super" hard core run, but will be tricky at times. I do expect some soft snow conditions with sneaky Snow "Bridges" that fail AS you drive over them! ;D ;D Have at least one traction aiding device( limited slip/ locker), tow hooks/ recovery strap/ shovel & patience when we have to get out & shovel / winch/ clear dead fall from roads will be REQUIRED. A winch would be great but not required. There is some new light snow with less than 2" of new white stuff fore-casted for the next couple of days/ nights!!! Total snow depths ( actual on ground) should be about 2' with drifts of 4'-6' at the exposed highest road elevations. Answer up if you would like to go. Will PM meeting location (somewhere in north eastern Clark county) if I get affirmative responses. I'll be equipped with a short, light weight rig on 33" tires/ 1.5" suspension lift/locker front/ limited slip rear/ winch/ hooks/ straps/ small chain saw. So if your similarly equipped/ capable ( or better), feel free to come along. Just expect some vehicle " extraction's" to take place! --- Maybe even me! Plan on being out for about 6 hours . Cheers Toyrocs

We had a great time, had no snow at 3,400' then by 3,800' had five to six feet. A little slushy but got better as we climbed higher! ;D :-)). Some drifted areas with off-camber crawling + nasty areas required some high speed Bonzai runs by you know who! The cable came out for anglebar as he was leading at times in the very difficult soft stuff. I needed more than a couple of pulls with the strap due to soft snow & low clearance (33") tires! We were all at about 5 psig tire pressures for the night. Torx had the usual no problems & just drove the whole night! Left at 8:15 & got back at 1:00. Cheers. Toyrocs

Actually I was on the cable twice, and Anglebar had the clean run. Every adventure out with Toyrocs is one you won't forget. Last night kind of went like this... Rally racing (I use the term racing very loosely) High RPM "get a run at" snow drift busting Super low speed "all puckered up" snow drift crawling Recover TORX Turn around and do more rally/desert racing Go bust through some more snow drifts More super low speed "all puckered up" drift crawling (which got really interesting on the exposed regions of the road) Turn around and do some more desert racing Put TORX in the lead again and see how long before the cable comes out Recover TORX Finish off the night with more desert racing, rally racing, and dune jumping ;D It was a fun night, late spring snow wheeling (wet heavy snow + off camber drifts) is completely different than any other snow I've been in. It definitely takes some technique, and throttle control. However, it does get your adrenaline going!

Few pics I snapped. Toyrocs in his DD TJ Anglebar breaking trail. The road is about 6ft below him. Up one drift, down another. I didn't get any pics of the "fun" part of the night, but I might have a video up later.

Alright here's the video's. I didn't have my camera with me during the snow drift straddling, but I did get two vids.
This was the first snow encounter of the night. Toyrocs slowly making forward progress.
Later on in the night we gained some elevation, and Anglebar took the lead laying tracks on top of the snow pack. The snow wasn't deep, but the risk of sliding off or punching through was high.
