I just wanted to check in and say hi. I'm from Yakima and found this thread while looking for some info on the Yacolt area. I'm updating the land use section of a NW forum that I help run and noticed that we don't have anything on there regarding whats going on there. Hope you guys don't mind if I hang out for a while and learn a thing or to. ;D

Hi Phantom,
Welcome to the forum. Everything there is to know about the Yacolt Burn will be on here. This is the tool we as a club use to communicate updates and news to the rest of the motorized world. Hopefully this will give you the info you are looking for.
What board is it you help run?
I look forward to meeting you in person some day.

Phantom, there are NO OFFICIAL 4x4 trails in the Yacolt Burn State Forest at this time. This is one of the pressing needs for this area. The area is forested with timber harvesting currently going on. Steep terrain in many locations. There are some areas with natural exposed rock formations.
This area is easily accessible from interstate I205 in Vancouver or state route SR14 in Washougal. Travel time is about 20 min from these locations to a central starting point in the OHV Plan Area.
I don't have any pictures, but maybe someone else can post up.

Phantom, there are NO OFFICIAL 4x4 trails in the Yacolt Burn State Forest at this time. Although there aren't any open 4x4 trails yet, are there any access type roads open, or is the entire area still shut down? I've done alot of reading on here, but still am a little unclear on a couple of things. What stage of the plan are things in right now? I think I read it was a ten year plan? What needs to be done before trails begin to be built? I'm sure the info is on here and I just missed it so thanks for bearing with me. All of the things you guys have accomplished are pretty impressive!
