Greetings,
We are again starting up the Yacolt Burn Forest Watch Patrol program. After a year hiatus we have a full staff in place and are again in position to utilize volunteers to help in the monitoring and reporting of the forest.
The program has some changes including having a statewide coordinator and funding to help keep the program running. We will be doing our first refresher for the FWP on March 6 at the La Center Community Center at 6pm. This is the refresher training for all people that had the training previously and are still wanting to participate in the program. This training will be a basic refresher on DNR expectations, some changes to the program, and the schedule for upcoming patrols.
We will be having a training for all new members in the next few months and that training will be more in-depth and give the basic DNR message along with other general information. We have the training rosters from all the trainings from 2006 to the present so if there are any questions about your training dates, we will have a database to reference.
We hope that it continues to be a valuable tool for the Yacolt Burn State forest and again want to thank everyone that has participated in the Forest Watch Patrol program. If you have any questions about the refresher class or general question about Forest Watch Patrol feel free to contact me.
Sincerely,
Nick Cronquist
