ACTION ALERT!
HB5366 has been in turmoil for months due to a small group of ATV'ers only caring about their personal interests. WOHVA (Washington Off-Highway Vehicle Association) has been working around the clock with legislators (ie The Transportation Committee) to get this Bill whipped into shape so that it will be an improvement for ALL OHVers (not just a small minority). It looks like they've finally got all of the poison out and will continue to push to get this on the floor this session (ending March 8th).
This is good news - please send your letters and cross your fingers. SB5366 will fix numerous access problems that OHVers face in Washington State.
I have been actively watching the progress of this Bill and read it again in its entirety today (29 pages) to make sure everything looked good before I posted here in the forum for our readers - I hope you will agree and notify your legislators that you now support this latest revision...

From Bryan Peterson "Dirk" with WOHVA
*Your legislators have HEARD YOU loud and clear and have CHANGED 5366 as a result.*
5366-S2.E AMH SHEA H4588.1
that was released earlier today has enough changes that WOHVA is withdrawing opposition to this Bill.

Changes include:
* Removes the "closed unless posted open" language
* Law enforcement will now have the flexibility to issue a citation...no longer required (sec 16)
* Users under 16 years of age will no longer be required to stay within 300 feet of a licensed adult on primitive roads (trails)
* The definition of "four wheeled vehicle" was further defined...not a motorcycle and now includes both ATV & UTV's (per Idaho definition)
* ATV & UTV are exempt from the Discover Pass
* The required "license plate" will be a small metal tag
It is AGAIN vital that you make your voice heard on this important issue WITHIN MINUTES OF RECEIVING THIS ALERT!
