I just received a phone call from Mike Ames with the Jones Creek Trail Riders.
He confirmed that you DO NOT need to have an ATV or Dirtbike to help with this work party. Much of the work is taking place within 100 yards of the forest service road.
It would be helpful to Mike if he can get a headcount of how many folks will be attending this work party. Please post up if you are planning on attending or even thinking about possibly attending this event to help Mike out.
Thanks in advance,
Crystal

I will try to make it up. I don't have a quad or anything but am more than happy to put my little 2wd truck to work if needed... -Eric

You should be able to drive to within a few hundred yards of the work site with anything that is not a low-rider. Weather is supposed to be great Saturday!

Lets get a few more Pistons Wild Members and friends to help this saturday. We need to work together with Jones Creek Trailriders. Our trails will share some crossings and the better we support each other the faster and better we will get things done. See you Saturday. Dave.

And Thank You Too to Mike Ames of JCTRA for all that you guys do up there at Jones Creek ATV Area.
Our group consisted of Bill H., Darrel, Eric, and myself. There were about 15 volunteers present on Saturday plus the DNR folks Laura and Josh.
It was a beautiful day in the forest on saturday. DNR provided energy bars and water as well as a decent hot dog and chip and cookie lunch that afternoon. Was a good day.
Pistons Wild worked on the Staging area placing gravel. We also replaced broken and missing fence boards on the Kids ATV area. Eric did gravel and sign work. Thanks Eric for coming up and helping. Keep in touch and make some friends....
Most of us got 7 hours toward our next Discover Pass and all of the volunteers hours count toward the matching hours needed for DNR to recieve the grants that they were awarded. The grants are important to keep DNR employees working in the Yacolt Burn. That money maintains trails and is the money that they use to make improvements. Our hours are greatly needed and since DNR was awarded basically every grant that they applied for.... A lot of hours will be needed to Match the grants.
Last word was 1200 hours were needed. I don't really expect any problem getting those hours.... but if no one showed at work parties or for other trail work... then it could get bad. So.. whenever you can,, please volunteer for these work parties.
