This will be the December Official Club Run. For applicants that need this run it is a fun time. Date: Dec 8, 2012 Time: We will be Leaving Chelatchie Prairie store at 9am Requirements: You will need something to cut your tree down. You will need some way to carry your tree out of the forest. I would recommend tying your tree to the top of your rig with straps. Bring enough gear to make it through the night. (IE: food, drinks, warm clothes, and fuel) sometimes things can happen and you will get stuck out over night. This has happened to the club at least once with a group of very capable rigs. So please be prepared. You will need a tree permit. You can get tree permits at the store in the morning. They are $5 per tree and you can only get 5 trees per house hold. More info is found at this site www.fs.usda.gov/detail/giffordpinchot/passes-permits/forestproducts/?cid=fsbdev3_005072You don't half to get a tree if you don't want one. This will be my third Christmas tree run and I have yet to get a tree. Just come have some fun in the snow with some great people. I will also be bringing my mini BBQ for a warm lunch in the snow. Just bring your own meat Hope to see everyone out there! Daryl Withay ;D

I just plan on heading up into the woods from Chelatchie Prairie store. I know that we found a good area for trees up that way last year. Depending on the snow levels and how much time we have I would like to try and come out through Carson. But the main plan is to go out and have some fun in the wood!

Yes Daryl thank you for taking this over for me since I couldn't fulfill my obligations. I will get you my results of tree hunting shortly. One place that has all ways been good is at the very top of the 54. That would also get you on track for coming down into Carson. We are most likely to head up the 41 because I know there are tree up there out by the football field. But I will get you more info soon.

There's decent trees up the 5701 and as long as there's not to much snow that will drop you back off at the soda peaks berry fields to hop onto the 54 and head to the windy river highway. Or you can run the 311 to the 58 and hit the windy off that as well

Put a bunch of snow on that road and it looks like it could be a challenge.
