When we finished with the Ceder Tree trail it was time to meet up with the advanced group over at the Little Rubicon. We arrived there about an hour late and they came rolling in just behind us. Everyone gave it a good once over and decided against it. The guy on the bike came from the top side and then decided to turn around. At that point it was time for lunch, so we all turned around and headed back to Rogers Camp for lunch. Back at Rogers Mark's family had a hot grill ready to go and tarps set up so we could get out of the rain. While they were grilling up burgers and dogs everyone else started to air back up and fix what needed to be fixed on their rigs. As the burgers were grilling some National Guards men that were training rolled into the parking lot so we invited them over for food. After lunch everyone said their goodbye's and started taking off. Many of the people there had a long drive back to Fort Lewis to make after a day on the trails. Again thanks to Daryl for a great write up and for joining me for the day it was muddy to say the least but good times were had all.
I talked with a couple of first timers and a couple of kids and to say the least they were all hooked and some were already talking about modifications to their rigs.
i look forward to a time when I can be a part of another event like this to support the sacrifices these fine men and women give to allow us to enjoy all the things we enjoy.
