Just last Fall we tightened the wallet and started buying some of our parts from Cost Less Auto Parts (in both Orchards and Hazel Dell locations). I find that the in-stock availability and pricing is fantastic. Even most parts that they don't have in stock, they can get within a few hours. Only on Sunday have I ever had to wait until the next day for parts. But lately, we have been experiencing alot of "bad" new parts from their "OEM" parts line. Don't be fooled by the brand name - It stands for "Original Engine Management" - not Original Equipment Manufacturers. The parts are from India ? ? ? I'm interested to hear about other peoples experiences with Cost Less Auto Parts versus your experiences with other local auto parts stores.

I think that goes along with their customer service and the new act for "Ameican's With No Abilities Act!"

Cheap parts are just that, I used to buy stuff from them all the time but had problems with things not fitting right. I would suggest to bring the original part in to examine it with the new. Otherwise I use Napa or Shucks. Or even the original Manufacturer. I will tell you this from true experience, sometimes the dealer is cheaper then any parts store.

Speaking of dealers. I know I have a "cash" account at Gresham ford and that gives me I believe a 10% discount right off the top. Just by signing a form and remembering your account number.
One thing that my buddies have told me that worked at part stores is retail is just a rip off. When I would buy parts from them my ticket would be printed up under a company name that gave me a great discount (on all but performance parts)and then I would have to pay cash for the parts. I usually use the warn employee account at baxters for instance.

We get a lot of parts at cost less. They have the best policy on rental tools too. You pay the cost of the tool, keep it for 3 days, and then get all your money back. That has come in handy a few times for tools we don't have. (like a ball joint press and adapters.) But yes, we always check to make sure the part we are buying is the same as what we are replacing. So far, no problems with quality.
