I have been known to use this technique, one huge problem though is that sometimes the pedals don't line up good enough for this in some vehicles. I do the double clutch as well, but not in my CJ, It already takes me forever to shift with that old tranny.

All of this is one of the things I miss about having a manual.... I liked shifting. Never got to this heel toe level, but I loved down shifting into corners. Just not the same with the auto. of course in our old ranger I got to the point that I rarely used the clucth anyway...

I don't have this problem driving my manual. Go to "Tech Links and Tech Posting" to see how I have over come this problem.

I use it on the race track all the time. It works great and I have gotten good enough at it that its like one fluid motion now.
