Well, as those at the meeting heard there is a friendly Browns Camp run planned for Sunday May 17. Its going to be a shake down run for my rig and maybe a few others. Its also going to be a shake down run for me since I am about as new to the 4x4 driving scene as I am to the club. Fresh meat, haha. I hope to have a blast and learn allot about my CJ and my own skills, if I have them ;D. Its going to be sweet weather. We are meeting at the shell station at 8:30 sharp and leave there at 8:45 or earlier if everyone is there. I have to get a ORV pass first. Then I imagine we will head to the trails. I have a small plan to run Cedar Tree first, or Power Line. Then proceed to Firebreak and so on. Its also posted on the calender as TSF play day for the 17th of May. Bring Cameras and Video cameras! Probably don't have to say it but no alcohol, or your not running with me

Just after the stop at the down tree we encountered yet another small setback. Slimer wasn't in a good mood, and decided to break something in the rear. Might have been a yolk or something, not quite sure. YEAH, I get to use some of my new goodies, the winch came out as well as the tree saver and snatch block. Once we got him around the steep corner and facing up the hill, I then turned around and pulled him up with a strap to the top of the hill till it leveled out. Pictures are floating around somewhere of that. We then went to the Rock Garden for a lunch break. We were only greeted by one buggy for a brief moment. He made it look so easy, but I would guess that 40K rig or so would ;D Some intake manifold cooked smokies, cheese, crackers, summer sausage and a diet Pepsi was ooh so good! We headed down Firebreak on our way back to the staging area. 20 feet into the trail my rig shuts down. Like someone turned the key off, no sputter, no acting up at all. I opened the hood to find fuel coming out of my throttle shaft! I figured it was the float sticking since it had done this to me once before. I grabbed my shackle and tapped the carb a bunch of times. Presto, its fixed. I wish they were all this easy. Only got one picture of this trail, but others may have more. Here are a few videos of my me in the CJ3B. For some reason you have to click the link? It will take you right to the video in photobucket. s731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/5-17-09%20TSF%20Shake%20Down%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2090.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/5-17-09%20TSF%20Shake%20Down%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2092.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/5-17-09%20TSF%20Shake%20Down%20Run/?action=view¤t=MVI_2091.flvOver all I would say it was a very good day. We all had a blast, and the weather was perfect. It was a great learning experience for me and my rig did awesome! Even with them little tires, it never missed a beat. I need to do a few minor tweaks with stuff but other then that the shake down run was a hit. I would bet the rest of the group was just as happy with the days trip.

We had alot of fun even though our rear shaft thought it would have more fun and try to run away. Kira took the spare out the day before but we still had fun.

I'm glad to see everyone had a great time. I had to do yard work. I'll make the next one! I hope all the rigs performed well in the adventure.

I had a great time. My dog on the other hand had to get a bath as soon as we got home! Oil, algae, dirt, soda and just plain 'ol stinky! She had an ok time herself...she just needs to learn to hang on better! Glad you came with us Shawna!
