I'm jonesin' man... I just need a little to get me through the weekend. A little mud, some rocks and dirt in my teeth.
Who's with me for some wheelin' this Sat at Browns Camp or if we want to get real adventurous... Tahuya or Elbe hills for the day. (both 2 hrs away)
I'm going somewhere this Saturday regardless, so let me know who's going. ;D

I call shotgun Doug!
I was going to see if you wanted to go, but my 3B is down right now since I have the T-case out for a freshening up after the last trips episode.
I would be down for a day run anywhere! I'll bring the camera. The wife is up in Seattle for 4 days starting Friday so I have to make hay while the sun shines. I'll call ya.

I think we'll just run up to Browns camp this trip. However I want to run Archers, the harder stuff first and maybe look at Little Rubicon. I'm going to air down at Lee's Camp store right at the bottom of Ben Smith road. The bus will leave there at 8:30 am.
Let me know who else wants to go.

I'm pretty sure I'll make it, but I have a few bugs to get straightened out first. I'll know 100% by Friday (afternoon).

If this is a go.... I am a go.
I will not be abusing my truck however.. still have the running gear for sale and don't want to have to fix it to sell it.. I will spectate at the more challenging areas.
so far I have a seat available for anyone who wants to ride along.

Howdy Boys and Girls, Well, we had a fun day. Hootie, Projectman w/ his wife Mrs Projectman... I mean Jennifer and myself w/ Fivendime riding shotgun... we are the five Amigos! I'm not sure where that came from. Anyway, we run all of Archers. Rock Garden, Water Fall, Can Opener and Rocky Uphill. At the top of R.U. Curtiss (aka Projectman) decided to have an issue with a little over heating problem. His electric fan was being rebellious. So we got that fixed and run over to look at 7 Up and then, yes you guessed it, the new and improved Airplane Hill trail. We got there to find about six modestly modified rigs going up. So we went to see for ourselves what was so great about the trail and to watch them climb it. Well, its pretty awesome. The filters are impressive also. Projectman and Hootie had to leave so I had to give this a try. Well, I didn't have much trouble at all, that's not to say that after we went up and started to come back down we were met by a bunch of buggies on at least 39" tire that tore it up. I'm sure that after all that it would be a lot more challenging. There is so much loose dirt and rocks that the dynamics of this trail will change daily. They used a lot of large rocks to create the main part of the obstacles, but the fill will be at the bottom of the trail by the end of summer. All in all a great trail and a great day. The pics should be here soon by the others that went. Just FYI... I'm the first Pistons Wild member to successfully navigate the new trail ;D WHO'S NEXT?

regarding posting pics and vids. We have determined that the file names are too long... two things need to happen. 1/ the photobucket name needs to be shortened.. ie 6/27/09 TSF and make sure your file name for the photo or video is as short as you can and still be able to ID it in your files.. IE. 62709tsf1 and 62609tsf2 etc. or a little longer may be ok... just the photobucket name and file names should be shorter.. you will have to delete the photo bucket folder for those pics... and create a new shorter named bucket... then look at the file names you are uploading to photobucket and make sure they aren't too long.. then it will work... not sure of the particular number of characters that will work... only know that I had that problem once and had to do this to make em work.. We will adress this problem will more detail... maybe at the next meeting so we don't have this occur too many more times.. a hassle when it does. Dave.

We then headed to Can Opener/Cork Screw, inside joke haha. Again Doug was the only runner for this trail. Headed up I rode with him, we took the right side and it climbed right up first try. I then jumped out and Curtis's wife jumped in for a ride. This time he took the left part of the trail, which in turn was a bit harder. He had to work at it a bit, using more throttle. I have a video of it which I will post down below with the rest of the videos. I made a joke before we went up the first time about blowing a bead on the rock. I forgot to knock on wood, OOPS. On the second trip up, just as he was climbing over the rock he blew the bead partially off. I have a video of that as well. If you listen close you can hear the blow off and hissing noise. He didn't see me knocking on the tree I was standing next too as he passed me. Doug at the top pumping his tire back up after the bead popped off. Off to Rocky Uphill. This was a fun trail that I had never been on. I think it would be a challenge for my rig, so its a must for next trip. Doug and Dave's rig made it up just fine, but Curtis had to do some fancy driving to make it. Carburetors make things more challenging on steep hills and rocks as Curtis found out. At the top of the hill Curtis discovered that his electric fan stopped working. Not too long after the hood opened the overflow bottles top popped off shooting coolant 4' in the air. Bum deal. So we decided to stop for lunch at that point and let it cool down. We found that a fuse was blown due to overheating of the system. He had some larger gauge wire so we hardwired the fan to get him running again. Burgers and dogs on the manifold were good. I will do that again for sure. We then headed to 7-up to look at the steep section. Man is that thing steep. I am going to take xtrmtj there to see if he wants to run it. We then headed for the one trail we all wanted to check out. Airplane Hill. As soon as we got there, we found a few Jeeps and Toyotas running it. None made it up except for the toyota/buggy. The others winched up. I was also told something that I thought was fine by one of there club members. NO MOVING ROCKS, is what the guy told me. YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO DO THAT. I stepped back and thought to myself, huh I didn't know that and no one told me different. I though I was helping him out just in case he forgot or something. Later Doug reassured me that it was fine. Funny too since the rig that was broke could have been moved off the trail, but they insisted on fixing it while it was in the way. So me and Doug waited untill they fixed it and moved it off the trail. We then headed up like we knew what we were doing. First try we made it up while Doug spotted his side and I mine from our seats. We had to try 2 times up top but made it fine. There is a ton of loose rock at the top. The filters too I must say were challenging in there own. They are good ones, that are almost worse then the trail. Its a fun trail though, which will change daily if not hourly since its so loose. It will soon take 38's or larger tires and a winch most of the time I'm sure, unless you have a buggy. I got some pictures of the others running it, but since I rode and everyone else went home by then I didn't get shots. Again, the day was full of fun. We managed to run what we wanted with only a few glitches. A beautiful day weather wise as well. I'm glad I got to run some trails with Doug that I had never ran before. Thanks Doug for putting up with me that day and driving, haha. Here are some videos of the day. There short and simple. s731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2354.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2355.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2358.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2362.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2363.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2389.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2391.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2395.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2398.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2416.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2418.flvs731.photobucket.com/albums/ww312/pistonswild/2009%20Events/6-27-09%20TSF%20Need%20my%20fix/?action=view¤t=MVI_2421.flv
