Hey everyone.... I am gonna have to do a tear down and fix on my NP205. I believe it was originally rebuilt incorrectly as I have always had some gear touching and occasional pop out of front drive on 4 high. It has progressed to more gear touch and often pop out of front on 4 high. I will be tearing down in next few days. ANYONE have any knowledge to recognize a missing piece that may be evident upon disassembly? I would love to have someone watching/helping as I tear this down and reassemble it. I would hope whole process will only take a few hours... or one hour... diagnose... order parts next day air.. and a hour or so reassembly upon receiving the new replacement parts. I have a gasket set. Contact me... here or preferably by phone. 360 256-1632 if you would be available for this.. I NEED it done so I can take the blazer to our Poker Run on the 24th of June. Please and Thank You ! Dave.

I will provide a large clean work space and have a good tool selection. I will also be generous with offers of food or cash for help. I would also consider having a shop do the whole thing if price was at least reasonable. Any referrals will be considered.

Interesting... Is it twin stick? If it's been twin'd, the mode rail might have been modified... I'll see If I can find someone to refer to you, I've got a buddy that has rebuilt a few NPs, just can't remember if his specialty is the 205 or the 208... or if that even matters..

Thanks for the reply. Yes twin sticked 205, ORD modified rails. But I think it is going up to Mark at Metro Transmission in Woodland. I pulled the transfer case on Saturday.. Front yoke has forward/backward play of about 1/4". I am sure it is missing shims somewhere. Metro seemed to exhibit knowledge on the phone ( they built the transmission for me ) so I guess I will bring it to them. They quoted me $250 plus parts. I am supplying gasket kit. Sounds reasonable price wise so unless someone jumps on this thread.. it will go there.

Hey Dave,
I have the time to help - but I don't have the knowledge base of that unit to be of any genuine assistance. I'm glad you found someone to help you out.
I go to Joe or Lou at Vancouver Transmission for that kind of work - but it looks like you are getting a good deal...
Good luck with your project and sorry I can't be of more help.

Mark should be able to get you taken care of for sure.
Gary at Woody's does well with those cases too if needed but not cheap.

Transfer Case Fixed. Was missing a Thrust Washer. Metro Transmission modified a washer they had and my Transfer Case now operates as it should. Thanks for offers of help. Dave.

Did you get your driveline back into six states today?

Regarding Driveline. I called and described problem with the new driveline and its CV ( Cardan ) joint. I will bring the whole Blazer in on Wednesday. I want them to see the application and see if they think I am outside of the design parameters. ( PS... drive line came apart at the slip yoke when backing off the trailer at the shop... so going to need to re-make it longer it anyway.. I will confirm whether it was made to my specs at that time..) ( I don't think it was ).
