The NOVA Grant project preliminary ranking and evaluation scores have been released to the public. This link will take you to all of the ranking details for the following categories: Education & Enforcement, Non-Highway Road Projects, Non-Motorized Projects and last but never least on my mind, Off-Road Vehicle (OHV) Projects. Actual funding would not take place until later this year when RCO finds out from legislature exactly how much funding they will have available to apply to these grants. You can scroll down to page 17 to see the #1 ranking for the Yacolt Burn Motorized Trails Development grant request. This #1 ranking put the Yacolt Burn Motorized Trails development at the front of the line to receive funding later this year to support 2018-2019 construction season. www.rco.wa.gov/documents/rcfb/nova/2016NOVAGrants.pdfThis is the grant that will provide funding for the next phase of new trails construction in 2018-2019. This is funding for bridges and trail construction that will connect the bottom of C14 (aka) Old Ugly to the trails in the center of the forest finally creating a trail based "loop" system for 4x4's in the Yacolt Burn. NOTE: This grant funding comes from the off-road use percentage of the state gasoline tax and off-road vehicle use permits.
